My Top Ten Reason We Will End The Improbable Season With A Super Bowl Win

16 posts in this topic

Dont worry people their is no doubt in my mind we will win. Here is why: We have overcame so much diversity and so much random stuff have came together "the stars lining up so to say" its only our destiny to win it all.

1. Last year we were the laughing stock of the NFL losing to Miami. Their coach got tossed aside and picked up by who other then the only team they beat. Week 6...turning point of our season we go to Miami on the road and whoop them (starting our 11 out of 13 run). We avoid playing the Patriots in Foxboro b/c ex-retired Favre throws 3 or 4 picks to let Miami sneak in to the playoffs. Again wild card weekend comes and we whoop cams ex team.

2. We draft a division 2 QB who got dumped by PITT(the college..but still the same). He has no big game experience.blah.blah.blah. He is not doing that great in pre game and Boller gets hurt (i will keep my opinion to myself) Troy smith gets some random illness that sidelines him for 4 weeks. Since when does a illness sideline a world class athlete for that long I know it happens but still. So we get Flacco to start (a rookie who has no chance of leading us to an above 500 record) and you know where that story goes.

3. Billick a very decorated coach gets canned with 3 years left on his contract. The big names deny us to come and coach and we get a specials team coach out of philly. That guy turns the team around and instills and sense of pride, team first attitude, and accountability something we had been lacking. The "big name" coach goes back to Jerry Jones. Jerry Jones disrespects us by choosing us to play the last game at Dallas and by scheduling a post game celebration party. We lose the game we should have won(Pittsburgh) and are basically counted out of the playoffs. We go whoop Dallas, Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett to solidify are playoff berth.

4. The eerily same path as that in 2000. Wild card, tennessee, SB in Tampa

5. Our kryptonite being knocked out by a 4 and 8 team team 30 days prior.

6. We beat up on Mcnabb causing him to get benched. That benching cause their season to get completely turned around. They knock out Giants the only team besides the Colts IMO that would beat us in the SB.

7. A division rival lets go their veteran lineman who we grab last minute who replaces JO as our veteran anchor who then lets up 0 sacks in the playoffs.

8. The irony that the only reason Kyle freakin Boller is going to get a Super Bowl ring is because he did not take a single snap at QB.

9. The idea of us getting swept by our most hated rivals during the season only to have the chance of beating them for a Super Bowl berth in their house.

10. Personally...A. I fly away snowboarding every year for my bday, my friend broke his collarbone causing us not to go so instead we went to vegas. On a lark I bought a $100 ticket for the Ravens to win it all. B. My current GF of 2 months (after breaking up with my long term steeler GF) works for the NFL and secured me tickets to the SB at face value.

I am sure I can think of more but these are my fate/destiny reasons why we will finish the improbable season.

I love all of those points, etc. But the Ravens will win because we will have at least one more point than the Steelers after playing the game for 60 minutes, or maybe 60 minutes and some change. Congrats on the new GF, and beating the Vegas odds! This is my Superbowl!

Believe in your team. Not for things like "destiny" though. It's fun to look at coincidences but that's all they are.

Here is why I stopped taking stock in these things.

I have season tickets and I tailgate for every game. One of my favorite drinks is a beer called Magic Hat #9. The Magic Hat brewery prints little messages under their bottle caps. Kinda like Snapple caps.

On opening day of the 2006 season the very first beer that I opened was a Magic Hat #9. Of course I turned the cap over to see what it said. I got a little chill after reading the message. It read:

"Suck The Toe Of Edgar Allen Poe"

I kept that bottle cap in my back pocket for every single game that season. And you know what, we lost to the Colts at home in the divisional round of the playoffs after going 13-3 during the regular season.

Ever since then, destiny isn't something that I count on anymore. Its up to the players to "want it".

But I do believe in this team and I feel that they can beat any team they want!

I don't think that is true, is it? I thought you have to start X amount of games, or at least play in X amount of games to get a ring?

BTW Congrats on upgrading from your Steelers girl friend, I just got over mine:

Like usual, Destiny is a subjective term. Every team has their reasons why they are "Destined" to win the superbowl. The only storied destiny that occurs is the one that happens. I like what Pig had to say. Believe in your team not becuase you believe it is destiny, but because you know they can kick some ******.

Go Ravens.
