[News] Lardarius Webb Feels Like A Natural At Safety

20 posts in this topic

After playing safety in high school and college, converted cornerback Lardarius Webb has a good feel for the position. Now he’s just spending extra time in the playbook trying to learn the nuances of directing Baltimore’s secondary.

I just wish Webb was a little heavier. He seems kinda light to be a safety.

Never good to gain weight when you're getting older lol plus I think he's gonna lineup on the slot in certain situations and he's gotta maintain his mobility. We just need a playmaker back there at safety.

wasn't to long ago when Webb took down Peyton Hillis in in the open field, he has always been fearless when it comes to tackling....

As long as he remembers to keep everything infront of him, I have no doubt he will do better than what we have had playing back there lately.

"AGAIN" Webby is the next Ed Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! He fields the punt inside the 20yd line for field position like Ed, returns kicks like Ed and will "WREAK HAVOC" like Ed! Belichick and brady said "Ed would let a WR run rite pass him because Ed knew the ball wasn't going to that guy" ! Put Webby back there so he can obtain these abilities! THE ANTICIPATION IS ASTOUNDING!

Ravens need the secondary shored up this season. I remember so many good "almost defensive stands" due to giving up a big play downfield on 3rd and longs. Even before the turn overs, need to not give up the easy plays that should be defended.

Get the foundation right and success will follow from being in the right places and doing the right things to turn the ball over.

I have so much confidence in Webb's transition to safety. I personally believe he'll be a force to reckon with alongside Weddle. We'll have a robust secondary this year, especially considering the pass rush specialists we've accumulated.

These 2 could be one of the best safety combo in the NFL this year. Can Webb stay healthy and play next to Eric all year?

Webb still has good hands if he can stay healthy I like the duo of Weddle and Webb. Or should I say "Wedd & Webb"?

I have that feeling he will play better at safety than he has at corner the last few years... Which isn't saying much.. But I think he will be a better safety than what we have had since Reed left.

It's the same for all 32 teams. Your secondary is only as good as it's front six or seven.

Applying pressure is everything. One of the main reasons we were 5-11 last year.

Our passing defense was actually very good last season. What killed us is pressure makes turnovers. Losing Suggs was a bigger loss than I think everyone is talking about last season.

I wouldn't get your hopes up folks. Sliding an aging corner over to safety is like sending a WR to TE when he loses a step. Or a RB to FB. It rarely works out.

Don't tell Waller that!

Webb will go beyond expectations as a safety, then if he had stay as a corner back...He is a better player down in the box then people realize.
