Here was Warren's chance to shine a little brighter by being honored and instead choose to be rude and ungrateful. I hope Jernigan changes the number to a number we can all appreciate because Warren just ruined #99 by being childish and unprofessional and therefore not worthy of the honor of wearing #99 in his name. Am sure plenty of other numbers can be worn with honor and appreciation.

I agree that Warren's comments were uncalled for an unacceptable. However, I think Jernigan should keep the number to spite him. If he changes it now, it will just boost Warren's already inflated ego.

I understand your point but I think keeping #99 will keep Warren's name in the news over and over in a bad way for years to come. Get rid of it and his name won't be mentioned as much and eventually we all move on. He can keep his ego if he does not want to be honored.

Seriously? You wonder if he makes the team now?

You are right, he was the snitch, but he's the starting tight end at this point, when we go with a 1 TE setup.

Ben is the Union Rep. It was his duty to do this. This falls on the coach for not knowing the rules. TWICE NOW.

It was all Bellicheck's fault! Ben Watson was former Patriot and he sent him to spy on us and take us down from the inside!!!! Jet fuel can't melt steel beams!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Ben Watson was the guy who stopped the whole thing, so it was only 5 minutes, not a whole session. If he wasn't there, we might have been stripped of a draft pick now...

And anyway, who else is to blame here than whoever committed the whole thing??? If Harbaugh respected the rules there would be nothing to talk about here.

Is anybody really going to remember this once the season starts? Non - issue. Besides, how do we know that Sapp wasn't saying this tongue in cheek as a way of ribbing a guy who played for Florida State instead of Miami? I seriously doubt it was meant as a personal attack on Jernigan's character. Lighten up!

I don't believe for a moment Harbaugh- or anybody else in the neighbourhood apart of Ben Watson - wasn't aware of the rule. Training camps are an integral part of his job, he's been through about 15 NFL off-season programmes in his coaching career. I just can't imagine a scenario in which he is not familiar with a rule the breaking of which may yield serious penalties to him and the organization...

And I can only hope Harbaugh doesn't think this whole thing is forgotten with a simple "blame it on me." Everyone was baming it on you already, John - because everyone knows it was directly or ultimately your fault. Taking the blame when it's painfully obvious to everyone that the blame is on you isn't an especially brave or gentlemans-like thing...

Yeah, well I wonder how many players were complaining about putting the pads on in the first place. And how many might have went up to Watson and asked if they had to do this. And once they realized that it was illegal, asked Watson, their union rep, to go tell the coaches they were violating the rules. We don't know, so to blame one player is really unfair. More than likely it was not just him saying "this is breaking the rules", but a group of players. Besides which, its only been assumed that Watson notified the union. Could have been someone else. In any case the bottom line is Harbs and his staff tried to tweak the rules and got caught. 100% coaching staff's fault, and i'm glad they're owning up to it.

couple observations... League made example of Ravens, if Pitta pans out with our TE group does Harbaugh make Watson an example. After the disrespect he got last year and the respect that Weddle is getting here I bet he is in heaven. Beginning to believe that Campanaro won't make this team due to ongoing, recurring injuries. Sapp is an idiot, doesn't matter if it is ladies of the night he tried to cheat out of money or dissing the respect a player gives him. Sapp is just an idiot. Ray Rice deserved another chance when morons like Hardy gets one and blow it. Monroe did not show, I admire what he's doing but he had all offseason to promote his cause. OTA's would have gone a long way to repair a damaged relationship. I hope the Ravens keep him til final cuts and give him a week to find another team. With his injury history and off field hobbies no one will be paying him top LT money now.

Jernigan needs to keep the number then in the future when someone asks who was the greatest player wearing 99, Jernigan's name will come up instead of that Sappy guy.

The NFL screwing the Ravens is an every year event. Usually it is the schedule
or turning out some lights during a SB. The NFL offices have no class. Their commish has no class. The whole crowd is just classless.

If Timmy knew more about Warren Sapp, he wouldn't want to emulate anything more than his game.

Warren's a serious loudmouth with little class.
Didn't he lose his job broadcasting shortly after getting busted for not paying his hooker at a hotel during last year's Superbowl?

Unfortunately for Jernigan he has a tall mountain to climb. The best player to ever wear #99 currently plays for the Texans. Back to Back DPOY winner JJ Watt. I love me some Jimmy, but he is a J short from being a JJ Watt.

What a bunch of sissies, can't practice in pads, really ?, no wonder they die, Get hurt, during the season, get rid of the unions, never has been any good, never will. Harbaugh knows the rules, figures that if the cheat up in NE gets away with everything, why not try.

I don;t know what to think of Jimmy Smith being out with his foot injury. If that's still bothering him we may've seen the best he has to offer. He need to prove he's a #1CB in this league and ont his team. If his foot is holding him back then they need a new #1.
