Here's hoping Arthur Brown makes the most of this opportunity. It really is as good a situation as you could ask for, for a starting position. Being sidelined mostly due to the veteran presence of D Smith the last few seasons must have been tough but now the time is ripe for the harvest. I expect this second round talent to make a strong case for being a starter.

I have been a Brown advocate because I have watched Harbaugh screw up Kruger, Cary Williams, Pernell McPhee, Ellerbe and a number of other young players coming in because he has an issue with them and they get in the doghouse. We could use Kruger in that pass rush role but he only got on the field in the last year of his contract and signed elsewhere because he was tired of the games and BS. He wouldn't play special teams (like Brown) so he couldn't play anywhere. Kruger let us know what he thinks of Harbaugh. McPhee started as a linebacker, Harbaugh made him put on weight and play up front. Only when he was allowed to return to that linebacker position was he productive. We got 1 and a half years out of him and he left. Cary Williams was a preseason knockout for three years and no one could figure why he didn't get on the field. When he finally did in the last year and a half of his contract he was almost a shutdown corner. But because Williams had a mouth and a mind he couldn't play for Harbaugh. Ellerbe was in the doghouse from day 1 because of showboating after an interception in Rams preseason. He only got play time in his final season. Ellerbe is that inside linebacker we are missing but he wouldn't sign here and we all know why, he said it. All these players and many more should have been productive here for years but we got a year out of them because of Harbaugh. Now I look at all this young talent on the verge of being cut or released when we havent even seen what they can do because Harbaugh won't let them on the field. I guess Harbaugh is too busy trying to beat the rules during OTA's than he is paying attention to his players. Bel;ieve it or not, I am not a Harbaugh hater, but the more I talk about what he has done with players since he came, I could talk myself into it.

Out of all the players you mentioned which one of them has actually succeeded after leaving the team? Maybe Mcphee, but Kruger hasn't done anything for the browns, Ellerbee was cut in Miami, and Cary Williams is still a free agent. So the fact that Harabaugh got at least one good year out of those guys is actually a credit to him.

I hope this post is a joke. Its almost as if you haven't followed what those players have done since they left.

I mean the notion of literally anybody on this planet referencing Cary Williams or Dannel Ellerbe as "good players" in this league means that person is just simply out of touch with the NFL as a whole.

The only guy out of all four of those guys who we "miss" is McPhee. We upgraded over literally every single one of those other players and we did so very quickly.

And McPhee is used in the exact same role in Chicago, a proof Harbs was using him to the fullest.

As for Brown, well I remember he was said to be the next Navorro Bowman. Seeing Bowman in the top100, it would be nice if Arthur could be half the player Bowman is.

Nothing to see here. Why waste the ink on Brown. Put Orr in the middle and let CJ do his thing at WLB. Then sign a decent Vet to replace Brown as he isn't good enough to back them up. It's over. What a waste of time here. Write about Orr and how he is up to the job at hand and will be that guy.

I'm hoping that the answer is found within. We have Orr and Brown who have had a chance to contribute on special teams, learn behind experienced ILBs, and grow. Now its time to produce. This is really Brown's make or break year. He is on the verge of being labeled a bust if he cant get on field over Orr. He couldn't beat out D. Smith now that he has been removed from situation its on him to beat out a udfa in Orr if that doesn't happen...cut em.

Brown has never really got the shot to show what he can do, so I'm not quick to write him off. Little spurts here and there is not enough for me to know what we have in Brown. I liked his speed and quickness to the ball when we drafted him...I thought he needed to get stronger. I guess this is his best shot at getting playing time here.

You claim there is some sort of record of these players expressing dislike or discontent for Harbaugh. Could you provide us references of these claims so we can read them for ourselves? Thanks.

Brown doesnt have a chance in my opinion, I believe Orr, KC or that Undrafted player(sorry I cant remember his name) has a better chance at starting next to CJ, which is a shame because Brown had the chance but couldn't produce.

Interesting perspective. We are not there day in and day out, so it's hard to know if guys like Brown, McPhee, and Kruger would have been good players earlier on. However, it just seems like often enough once these players finally get on the field, they play very well, and then right after signing a contract elsewhere.

My thinking is that a guy like Arthur Brown who was a second round pick should of got a lot more playing time to really see what he had to offer. I really like Brown. I'll say it again: I like his college tape at linebacker is better than Myles Jack (yes Jack is a better athlete with higher upside). Arthur is the PERFECT complement to Mosley. I can vividly still recall a preseason game against the Vikings where Arthur Brown chased down Adrian Peterson to the sideline and brought him down, even twisting AP's ankle. I remember thinking, "wow! This dude has insane athleticism and he's going to be great." Then he never played...

I never really understood the concern with Arthur Brown not getting more time active. Smith and Mosley were the best two players for the position and Orr and McClellan can play special teams. Brown showed promise as a starting LB, but not as a special teamer and thus he became the odd man out for the 45 that dress for games. If he were a special teams ace he would have been active for every game the past seasons. Now that a starting position has opened up and they can afford to have him on the field as a starter, he will get his opportunity.

That's why the Browns are the Browns. They sign Kruger to a 9 million dollar a year deal so he can play on passing downs. Ellerbe is a mediocre LB that was overpaid by the Dolphins. Last I checked nobody is knocking down Cary Williams door to sign him. Just because AB had ONE moment and tackled AP still does not remove the knock on him that he may be a 2nd round BUST. Hope not, but time for AB(who we traded up to get) to step up for more than one play.

The AP tackle was a game in December. The snow game where the teams combined for 4 TD's in the last 5 minutes.
