I'm not sure why Pitta is being ranked at all. I don't think he can be counted on to provide anything. He's trying to come back from a major injury. Anything he adds would be a bonus.

I expect all all coaches to be pushing Williams to step it up this year. To me he always seemed like he had too big of a head because he coukd get away on natural talent in college. Hopefully he realizes he has greater potential.

I definitely agree on pitta. No fault of his own he's just unreliable at this point because the injuries.

Maxx  is a very very good football player. I think he was underutilized in the passing game last year, rookie or no.

32 receptions in 14 games is a decent rookie campaign particularly considering that  In at least one game he wasn't even targeted.

I really don't care for the Ben Watson signing on a few levels but a main concern is that it takes snaps from Maxx.

Ultimately if we get production it won't matter where it comes from but I'm a Maxx fan.

Agreed. http://m.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/What-Maxx-Williams-Learned-At-NFL-Rookie-Symposium/a71c3b24-4a03-426f-b9b6-011796fb5fa0

for TEs it was always expected to take a yr or two before they made a significant impact on the field.

Max has incredible potential. The fact he was so out of shape yet ran a 4.75 and silky smooth routes being so out of shape he angered coaches shows his natural talent. If he gets in top shape like gronk or ertz he has all pro potential. His hands are great and his routes are silky smooth that confuses opponents. Max completely in shape could run and play at sub 4.6 speed!! i hear he looks like he grew some as well. And being 20 yrs old as a rookie it makes sense that he is about 6'5 now. Max has hands smooth sudden routes, ball skills athleticism and instincts. He gets in shape and tacks explosion to his skills, he will be as good as any TE in the nfl not named Gronk.  Even then he could  rival Gronk. This is reason I talk about players with technique and intelligence maximizing power and speed. Intelligence  and ravens coaches will bring top shelf technique out of players like Kufusi,Henry,Ron Stanley,Max,Urschel, Jensen,Dixon during ravens intense and well coached practices and coaching sessions. Leaning out and cutting excess weight and tacking on muscle will put speed, power, athleticism and explosion behind that technique to maximize the athlete behind the techniques!! Ron Stanley is a shining example. Great technique and athleticism but has to get far stronger to be a standout.

More talent means better formations and options to go with. I am not worried that Maxx will lose snaps at all. Watson will help on 3rd and be a leader in the locker room. As Maxx matures and gets acclimated with the system, he will get more reps and his solid route running, speed, athleticism and hands will be put on display. Maxx will be great and I think him and Gilmore will tear it up this year

Watson is the smartest and most fanatical player in the league when it comes to building muscle/power, leaning out and building speed/explosion through various training and nutrition programs. He will help Maxx reach his optimize speed and athleticism. He will show him and set the example to max how good he could be. And how being in shape will make him one of the fastest most explosive TEs in the league!! Will be a great tandem.

That's great...assuming all that is true and comes to fruition. I'd rather have Maxx on the field and work with Ravens on staff trainers.

The only reason ill feel like the Watson signing makes sense is in the event of injury. I don't see it as necessary otherwise.

Watson is as good of a blocker as Gilmore. However he runs a 4.6 40 at 35 and is a big play threat. Max and Ben Watson will be a match up problem. Max looks far bigger and more muscular this year so his blocking will be up to standard as well. The tandem can run good routes and catch very well, block very well and have speed to challenge for big plays. Gives the coordinator lots of scheme versatility!! I hear maxx is nearly 265 lbs of muscle now. He can carefully lean out and cut to 250lbs and tack on a step of speed and burst without losing any strength. Maxx is on his way to being an elite TE. He should be able to play at about 4.60-4.65 maybe even sub 4.6 if he cuts 12-14 lbs of fat. And on his way to all pro conversation. If he cuts 12-14 lbs of fat without losing any muscle or strength he is going to be a freak!! A TE that runs smooth sudden routes with big play speed and hard to tackle. As well a very functional blocker. He has potential to be the best TE outside of Gronk. ravens offense could be very explosive.
