Does recent signing give clues about starting left tackle? Or are we reading too much into it? History suggests Ravens can rebound from a 5-11 season. Ravens’ best acquisition of the offseason. Outside corner still appears thin.

Don't see the writing on the wall with the Ducasse signing... Another way to look at it: Let's say Urschel wins the center job, and Zuttah is released... You could then have Monroe, Stanley, Urschel, Yanda, Wagner with then Jensen as your only experienced backup at both center and guard. If Monroe goes down, Stanley slides out and Jensen comes in at guard but then Lewis is your only backup. Urschel goes down, Jensen prob could go in at center, but again Lewis is your only backup at guard. Ducasse provides a vet presence as a backup all over in the event that either Stanley wins the LT job, or Urschel wins the job at Center and they choose to let go of Monroe or Zuttah to free up cap space.

As a general guide: whenever Jeff Zrebiec starts out by a disclaimer ("it's too early", "may not be more than speculation"., "maybe it's just me" etc...) followed by a bold claim, he almost always proves to be wrong eventually.

"The Ravens are banking on Weddle to give them their most experienced leader in the secondary since Ed Reed and end a run of free-agent failures at safety that includes Darian Stewart, Will Hill and Kendrick Lewis."

I totally understand the logic behind calling Will Hill a "failure" - but whenever he was on the field, he was the anchor of the secondary. The problem was when he was off it. The biggest probelm with Kendrick, however,m is exactly his on-the-field production - or, to be more precise, the lack of it.
As for Darian Stewart, I still think it was a mistake to let him walk. He was nowhere near Ed Reed of course, but at least he was solid and dependable. Kendrick Lewis was a definite downgrade. Weddle should easily be an upgrade over both though.

And call me naive, but I still wouldn't give up on Monroe. Definitely not at least until Stanley proves he's ready to take over, in real NFL games. Trainings, camp and pre-season games may not be enough for a proof IMHO.

We do have other O-Linemen on the roster than the ones that are always mentioned, one is Wesley who did get decent PT last year and is big at 6-7 326, also i think it is more than just looking at LG backups, truth us Yanda is 31 and has maybe 3-4 years left in him, and like Oz always does he has one eye looking into the future.....Also need a solid backup for RG, as Wagner who went down before, and Yanda moved to RT, and Urschel moved into RG.......

Dont forget, last season Terrell Suggs went down and as did the morale of this entire team. Im not buying in to all this "new player this and new player that" advertisement. I want to know which players we have on this roster will step up and be a leader for their teammates and show determination to defeat every opponent we face. We will find out come September.

Remember when Matt Elam buying pairs of shoes was a headline Lol. In my head I was like "this guy does know he's is supposed to replace Ed Reed right?"

Yo did you notice how Darian Stewart was mediocre at best with us, then as soon as he landed in Denver he was Ed Reed reincarnated (not fully Ed Reed quality of course) during their entire run to the SB smh. He constantly made plays.

Wouldn't it be a dream come true if Ray came back to coach for this team. Only makes sense since his statue his directly out front of the stadium. Would be a total bone head move if he coached for any other team. I see it happening.

My picks for players who will make a impact are....Top 3 picks, then Judon, Dixon(who i feel fits the RR mode)..2nd year players Z.Smith, and Carl Davis...Young has a good shot due to the gigantic chip on shoulder, and has that attitude and swag that players who play like a Raven have...Henry and Moore could be pleasant surprises...JMO....

Typically a reflection of the great talent around him.

Not much different than Seattle. When the defense has multiple very highly talented players on it, it makes literally everybody on the defense look good.

See Brandon Browner and Byron Maxwell, among probably others.

I assume you mean Keenan Reynolds and I know what you mean. Why all the energy spent to discuss a 6th round pick? Talk of giving him 19? I feel like he will make the team even if he shouldn't simply due to the fact that the Ravens wouldn't want someone like the Patriots snatch him off the PS. I mean, I hope he turns into a real play maker for us but he must be the most hyped up 6th round pick in history. Not to mention the added pressure being put on his shoulders. What are they doing and why?

I don't see a Zuttah release there is no point, plus he is still a pretty good center and gives us more flexibility with Urschel.

Agreement here. The guy has a low chance to be on the opening day roster and is likely to end up on IR (where all drafted Raven WR's end up season 1)..

I mean I wouldn't call it "likely". He would have to get injured in order to land on IR, and trying to predict NFL injuries is about the equivalent of trying to pick the correct Powerball numbers.

Can't help remembering how EVERYONE from himself through his fellow players, coaches, up to Harbaugh, praised the development Matt Elam showed before the 2014 season, saying how ready he was to take over the secondary.

Then the season happened...

I don't think he was mediocre. He wasn't great, but solid. Much better than Kendrick IMHO.

Oh well. He was a super star at Navy and in the area for a few years. So, coverage on him interests local people and articles are written for views and clicks anyway While it seems a little much for somebody that hasn't quite made the 53 man roster yet, it is understandable.

And no we are not thin at CB. J.Smith obviously would start on just about any team in the NFL. Zerbiec just flew over Sharece Wright and Will Davis. Two third rounders that have slowly but steadily seasoned into NFL contributers. Powers is number 4 and the rest are fighiting for 5,6 and 7 on the depth charts. Just a few years ago we had the likes of Cykee Brown and Asa Jackson fighting with a bunch of undrafted guys for the slot job

I felt bad for Reynolds who has been pushed to live up to 1st round overall media-made pick with a 6th round paycheck.....

Will Hill was the anchor, the one that dragged us to the bottom. Every week, the guy was out of position, letting Torrey run for a long TD, letting Floyd run for a long TD, letting Baldwin run for long TDs, etc, etc, etc.

As far as Stewart, hindsight is always 20/20. He's still the same player in Denver that he was in Bal - no INT, no ball hawk skills (even on that unbelievable Broncos team, he pretty much had the same stats). At the time, the Ravens wanted a play-maker. Kendrick had consistently shown that with KC & the Texans. Can't fault them for making a change - yes it didn't work out but at least the try to get better (Though, looking at numbers, Lewis & Stewart's are almost identical from last year).

Also, I love how everyone on here assumes that the FO "lets guys walk" - not every player wants to be here no matter how much money you throw at them. Was Lebron staying in Miami for more money? Ever had a job that you would never go back to no matter how much they were paying?
