No Raven wore 19 to begin with. While I personally believe we should only retire the numbers of RAVENS greats, people would get into a riot if some rookie got 19

No Raven has worn #19 since 2001. (Scott Mitchell wore it after getting permission from Unitas)

I personally think the Ravens have done more than enough to honor the Baltimore Colts and wouldn't have an issue with a Raven wearing 19 again. But I also understand why the old timers would be upset.

I would hope the Ravens organization would retire number 19 permanently. Even though the game has changed drastically since Johnny Unitas played he is still one the greatest players to ever play the game. Unitas is a major part of Baltimore football history.

Since he died in 2002 and out of respect for Unitas, the Ravens don't give out #19.
