2016 NFL Injuries

This now opens up a huge opportunity for the Bears within the NFC North. This was the first year their new stadium opened and they lose their franchise QB to a terrible leg injury.

Some reports popping up it was dislocated knee. That could be terrible and hard to recover from.

Deja vu for the Vikings? Former Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper suffered a horrific knee injury in 2005 and his career was pretty much over and he never recovered following. Now Bridgewater about to suffer the same fate?

UTeddy Bridgewater tore his ACL and suffered other structural damage.

YIKES, that sounds horrible.

This sounds like it might be career...

As I said above, very same thing happened to Culpepper as well. So now the Vikings will potentially have seen 2 franchise quarterbacks' careers ended in a span of 11 years.Vikings thought they had their guy in Culpepper and then injured. They struggled to find a QB before landing Bridgewater in 2014 and now 2 years later it looks he has a career ending injury.

If I'm Ozzie I'm on a conference call with the Vikings and Josh Johnson's agent signing his praises.

But then the Vikings would just wait for us to cut him, knowing we wont be carrying three QB's

Dang - I hate this stuff. I feel for Teddy and for Viking fans.

As far as us being involved in any QB trade, no one is going to trade for Josh Johnson. We may all be in love with what he's done in the preseason, but I don't think he's put enough on tape for anyone to make a trade for him. The possible QB trade would have to involve Mallett ... he has enough experience and has started games and that might be enough to have the Vikings show interest. However, I doubt we'd get a very attractive offer and we'll likely not feel its worth letting go of our best QB insurance policy for a late round pick.

Actually, if I was Ozzie, it's be Mallet I'd be offering. He wasn't that bad filling in last season and could be a game manager for them. They might be willing to take that bait.

It's the Steelers turn in the injury report for 2016 The Steelers have placed 2015 1st Round Pick Bud Dupree on IR as he will need surgery to fix a core muscle tear. They re-signed LB Steven Johnson who was cut originally to take Dupree's spot on the roster. This means he is out at least 8 weeks as teams do not have to designate IR to return per the rule change but he will be able to practice after 6 weeks but can return after 8 weeks.

The Steelers haven't had a pass rusher record 10 or more sacks since 2010 and now will rely on James Harrison, another first round pick in Jarvis Jones and Arthur Moats at OLB.

Bad news for the Saints defense, 1st round pick Sheldon Rankins has been put on IR.

That's a shame. Rankins looked like a good pick and exactly what they needed on defense. Granted, they weren't going to be good this year no matter what. Guess Rankins will come back after they go into rebuilding mode this coming offseason.

This is why I see the Steelers possibly being a disappointment this season. Their DC has done wonders with that secondary, but it still needs a passrush to help them. Without a passrush that defense will be picked apart by the better teams in the AFC.

That's not to say Dupree provided much in passrush dept. last year.

Yeah. He certainly wasn't the answer. Losing does hurt their rotation though, and gives teams fewer people to game plan against. It takes a bad situation and makes it slightly worse.

Agree. Yet, according to press, Steelers are still almost sure to win North, regardless of the fact their D hasn't improved, Bell is out 3 weeks (plus inevitable injury) and Bryant all season.

Yeah. I mean, they play well against division rivals and the Bengals seemed to have taken a step back, but putting them as a lock to win is insane. As long as you have Big Ben throwing to Brown anything is possible, but they should be wildcard team at most.

Only 4 sacks all last year as a rookie, and I'm sure he was heading toward a bigger year this year as a full time starter considering their lack of depth prior to this injury. That seems to be the Steelers problem as of late with their defensive rookie picks, all talented guys but can't stay healthy and are always injured.

Wow, I just saw on Yahoo Sports that the Browns center Cam Erving was strapped to a stretcher with his neck immobilized and taken to the hospital after our game. I pray he is going to be okay.

Luckily, they now say it's precautionary.
