no that is not what he was saying. his post got deleted or i would show you. The guy was being a wise **** and his argument was based on analyzing the wording instead of the argument. i realize that the superbowl has only been played for 42/43 years and you guys have been around for 75 in some form or the other. I will continue to argue that you cannot make this claim that "our franchise has won 5 SB's you have won 1..we are better"

I was talking about these posts
Wow, what did i say.

I gave a simple math equation and said you can't base it off 75 years cause there are only

42 superbowls. Steelers won 5 of those/.. 1 every 8.4 years

Ravens have won 1 superbowl 1 every 12 years

I cant say that?

Dude, there haven't been 75 superbowls? How are you going to divide it by 75 when we are talking about number of Superbowl championships?

It's logic.
in these posts he is saying exactly that

When talking about how Ravens fans (try to) discredit the Steelers' five Super Bowl wins, I think what they're getting at (or SHOULD be getting at), is that too many Steelers fans use the five trophies as their ONLY point of contention as to the Steelers' "superiority" over the Ravens.

It's almost as if "The Steelers won five Super Bowls" has become the verbal/written equivalent of "nana-nana-boo-boo" and sticking your tongue out like a little kid; the fact gets old after a while because it's been beaten to death, and it gets defended in such a childish manner or is stated in such a matter-of-fact manner that it diminishes the impact of the statement in the midst of an argument/debate.

i agree that it has nothing to do with the year to year matchups

but we take pride in our championships.....so when you tell us that our five trophies are not as good as your one...it angers us.....because its just as childish as bringing them up all the time

No offense, but yes it does mean exactly that. Im not being biased but I'm pretty sure if you ask a panel of 100 experts who has HAD the better franchise, 99 out of 100 will say the Steelers. It has nothing to do with the current state of each team, it is about the histories so it's like comparing apples to oranges with your entire argument since the Ravens are still in their teenage years.

Please don't tear down the Steelers past because it has been a class organization run by one of the best owners ever.

Also, it is not just the championships that make the Steelers organization one of a kind. Year after year they refuse to let players take advantage of the organization and do not negotiate contracts once the year starts. They know how to keep the majority of thugs off their team even if they are full of potential(besides J.porter) But there are other things to a class organization besides championships.

I was talking about the original one which is gone......We will never come to an agreement. I just hate arguing the 5x champ argument. I wasn't alive them, i just seem to think it is exponentially harder to win a SB now then 70 years ago.

of course you have a better history you got 63 years more of experience. We are 4 years from getting our driver license and you just got your aarp card for the bus. If you want to make a comparison compare the last 12 years of each franchise, which you guys get the edge.

i really dont think the NFL then is quite the business it is right now with as much scrutinization. Was there a salary cap? How many teams competed? etc thats all.
