[News] Late For Work 5/16: 5 Reasons Jerraud Powers Is A Fantastic Signing; Keenan Reynolds' Next Challenge

I just cannot see him making immediate impact when he has so much to learn in AFC North division and team members. Ravens thought that last time they brought in a NFC secondary help. I think next year Ravens will be one heck of a team but not this year.

You could be wrong ya know lol.

Yeah, there's no difference between an AFC secondary coach and an NFC secondary coach.

Brand's of football aren't any different.

With Powers being 5'10" he sounds like a great mentor for Tavon Young. As for Matt Elam, I wonder if the Ravens would consider trying him at inside LB? All be it a long time ago he played it HS.

Matt Elam is too small to play LB at 5'10 LOL not a good idea. To me, l think it's time to move on from Elam. He just don't have what it takes.

Yea, might be time to release both Aurthor Brown and Elam, as they would provide decent cap saving. Also think Forsett could fall into the 80-20 rule, given the position is stacked. Also if Camp gets injured I think it should be time to move from him as well. We need guys that can play ball, not sit on the bench or IR.

Hmm l sorta agree with you but not quite. Arthur Brown has life because we don't have no depth at that position at LB unless we sign somebody then he's in danger of being release. Forsett is the veteran among the groups of RBs so l think he stays. As for Campanero, you could be right about that one because we stacked at Wr. l want him to stay because he got so much potential to be a good wr for us but he always gets so dang injured all the time.

Agreed no way Forsett or Art is going anywhere. At least for now. Forsett is a vet and trusted. Unless he gets injured again and someone comes in like a Ray Rice type and lights it up from then on.....Forsett has his job. MLB to thin to get rid of Art right now

Ravens have brought in two UDFA ILB's and I am sure Brown is on the bubble. I think he's in danger of being cut as well as Elam. Elam's first wake up call is that his option for next season was already declined.

I think Campanaro is a cut too, but he might just cut himself by getting hurt again.

I think we need more depth than two LB's but Brown is on the bubble though. ?

Depth chart currently is: C.J. Mosley, Zach Orr/Albert McClellan, Arthur Brown, and then the two UDFA's.

It will be interesting to see if the Ravens look at Brandon Boykins, we can't have enough quality depth. Also I want to see if we will look at former Charger Donald Butler or Justin Durant.

The guy was cut after one month, in the middle of the off season... Analysts suspect there's some off-the-field issue involved: an injury or something like that.

So if there is no factual report out about Butler its speculation. That being said if he's available why not low cost high reward at this point. Who else would offer what he has at this point in free agency at MLB?

Boykins is someone I thought the Ravens would go after when the Steelers let him walk. It's just weird to see a guy that is supposed to be one of the leagues top slot corners get dropped, to make room for an unknown guy like Richardson. I am sure Ozzie is doing his homework and asking different people before he brings Boykins in for a tryout.

Yep, it's pure speculation at this point. But the fact that he was cut within a month, with no games plaed and not even trainings done, could be taken as a red flag - or at least something to consider.

Yeah, there's no difference between an AFC secondary coach and an NFC secondary coach.

Brand's of football aren't any different.

Brands nor coaches are not much different but knowing the other teams players, tendencies and abilities are different. AFC plays one division of NFC every 4 years and AFC every two years plus 2 AFC teams to fill the 16.

That's what extensive film study is for. All coaches do this.

Not hiring good coaches because they haven't been coaching in your conference is a sure fire way to lose a lot of football games. Good coaches are good coaches... doesn't matter who they play or how often they play them. Same thing with good players.
