the weird thing about training camp this year is that a lot of familiar faces are gonna be on their way out. Somehow I think Matt Elam finds a way to stay on this team though, his career is on the line and he knows it.

I will wait and see about Powers, AZ secondary gave up a lot of yards against good QB's, i think BB had a 500 yard game against them.....But it seems we have stockpiled in the back field, Secondary, and WR spots....should make for great competition...Will be hard to find enough PT in pre-season for a lot of bubble players....

With Powers being 5'10" he sounds like a great mentor for Tavon Young. As for Matt Elam, I wonder if the Ravens would consider trying him at inside LB? All be it a long time ago he played it HS.

So, the procedure performed on J.Smith's foot was for bone chips and NOT screws being removed, as reported earlier.....:huh:hmmm. Nice to finally know the truth!

I'm surprised this article didn't mention the easiest way for Reynolds to make the roster: Returner on special teams. Clay showed some moves last season, but as far as i'm concerned the job is a wide open competition. The writer also seems to believe Campanaro is guaranteed a roster spot. While it does seem the Ravens brass like Campanaro, I don't think its a given that he automatically gets a place on the team, as 1: Injury history 2: lack of production when healthy and 3: looked awful when in competition for return duties on special teams. Add into this that Campanaro and Moore have very similar skills sets and athletic abilities and I would not be surprised if only one makes the team. In my book Campanaro doesn't get the nod just because hes been around a few years-he's going to have to prove that he can be a productive member of the team.

Matt Elam is too small to play LB at 5'10 LOL not a good idea. To me, l think it's time to move on from Elam. He just don't have what it takes.

Powers is like the Corey Graham signing. He'll be starting across from Jimmy.

I like this pickup as well and he could be a steal in free agency but l think Ozzie should gave him a 2 year deal instead of one so we don't have to worry about him becoming a free agent next year if he performs well. ?

Stephen Tulloch led the Lions last season with 107 tackles at 5"11"

Yea, might be time to release both Aurthor Brown and Elam, as they would provide decent cap saving. Also think Forsett could fall into the 80-20 rule, given the position is stacked. Also if Camp gets injured I think it should be time to move from him as well. We need guys that can play ball, not sit on the bench or IR.

Hmm l sorta agree with you but not quite. Arthur Brown has life because we don't have no depth at that position at LB unless we sign somebody then he's in danger of being release. Forsett is the veteran among the groups of RBs so l think he stays. As for Campanero, you could be right about that one because we stacked at Wr. l want him to stay because he got so much potential to be a good wr for us but he always gets so dang injured all the time.

Combining with Elam 5'10 and Mosley 6'2 just doesn't go together and plus did Elam fix his tackling issues because the last time he played he missed tackling Julian Edelman in the playoffs l believe. I just don't know about that.

While its still early to make a lot of predictions, I personally feel that the Ravens are going to clean house more this year than some past. A 5-11 record doesn't bode well, and some guys that have been around awhile collecting paychecks better wake up quick. I know the old saying is that you shouldn't lose your job because of injuries, but guys like Campanaro and Taliafaro seem to be made of glass. Yeah, they have great potenetial but so do Moore and Dixon at the same positions. I think a more-than-usual number of our draft picks and UFA's make the team this year and there will be some fat cut off the roster.

Matt Elam isn't Stephen Tulloch. Does that even need to be addressed. If Matt Elam could tackle he wouldn't be looking at the exit door at the Ravens facility.

I believe Powers will be playing in the slot and Wright will keep the Outside. I know he got embarrassed in the Niners game but he got thrown into the Defense and improved every week.

There is no reason we dont have a top 3 Defense this year, I see this being a special season.

Mike Preston reported that Smith had been experiencing pain in that foot before the news came out that he was getting "screws" removed.

yeah, screws and bone chips....one of these things is not like the other...

If Matt Elam could cover, tackle, and stay healthy he'd be set!

Ravens have brought in two UDFA ILB's and I am sure Brown is on the bubble. I think he's in danger of being cut as well as Elam. Elam's first wake up call is that his option for next season was already declined.

I think Campanaro is a cut too, but he might just cut himself by getting hurt again.

The Powers signing is a no-brainer and they just brought in UDFA Sam Brown who is 6'2'' ish and runs a 4.46 40. Brown also played safety in college if that means anything to anyone.

I don't think Powers is going to set the league on fire but I think he'll be a good stabilizing force and gives us another veteran to play quality snaps rather than HAVING to rely on Tavon Young so much. If we get Smith, Wright, Powers, AND Young all playing at a high level then this secondary will look a lot better. Guess this is a wake up call for guys like Kyle Arrington and Will Davis. Get healthy and play well or good bye.

I just cannot see him making immediate impact when he has so much to learn in AFC North division and team members. Ravens thought that last time they brought in a NFC secondary help. I think next year Ravens will be one heck of a team but not this year.

Fun fact. Reynolds took 7 years to get 11 interceptions that Ed Reed did just in two (12). Just shows how unique Ed was.

I do want to keep Will Davis because he played well until he got injured but your right about Kyle Arrington on the bubble because he played awful last year. ?

It will be interesting to see if the Ravens look at Brandon Boykins, we can't have enough quality depth. Also I want to see if we will look at former Charger Donald Butler or Justin Durant.
