Training camp numbers

11 posts in this topic

I think I read somewhere we reached a full 99 player roster.
So when training camp comes does that mean someone of actually going to be out there wearing a #52 and a #20 or are numbers not officially assigned until regular season ?   I will assume that is the case but I don't know for sure truthfully.  I don't know if I have ever seen duplicate numbers in pre season or at training camp but I never really paid attention either.

It's a 90 man roster, and we're currently at 87 after the moves on Friday.

Numbers will be duplicated, as many already are.  Juice and Ochi are wearing 44.  Cox and Luckett are wearing 46.  Wilson and Onwuasor are wearing 47.  Zuttah and Ojemudia are wearing 53.  Usually they don't double up on the same side of the ball.  Wilson and Onwuasor have that case, but I imagine Wilson's number has already changed and hasn't been updated yet.

19, 20, 52, and 75 always remain untouched.  They'll double up before giving those out.

Well that right there makes just about all the difference in the world.

Thanks.

As legendary as #19 is/was in Baltimore, that number isn't untouched.  Let's remember that Scott Mitchell wore it and, as of now, is the last Baltimore football player to have that number.  His 1 TD, 4 INT, 43% stat line for the two games he started, and lost, will live on in infamy

Yeah that's the one instance of 19 being handed out. I think they've learned from that time and haven't issued it since.

It might be a Bisciotti order, wasn't he a big Colts fan back in the day?

I saw something on the main page about Reynolds getting the number 19.

He's not.  That's just some insane guy lol.  If Reynolds was getting 19, he'd have it already.

I will say though, if they wanted to give it out to someone, I imagine a guy like Reynolds would be it.  High character and coming from a military school.  Not a bad representation.

Character. That is the only reason I believed it. Well, that and it was on  the main page .

This is where it's coming from.  The Unitas family said they'd be okay with it.
