I was a huge supporter of Marlon. Thought he could really find a place in this offense especially under Trestman. I think injuries really hurt him but I'm kinda happy to see him go because it means the Ravens aren't just holding onto potential. Guys will have to step up in competition to make this team.

Hopefully for Marlon he can get healthy and get with a pass happy team, but I think injuries will always be a concern

Seems like a good guy, but this parting of ways had to happen at some point, and it was probably way overdue. I wish him luck wherever he goes but I'm glad the Marlon Brown episode has ended.  His leash was entirely too long.

I think finding another team will be best for him where he will a have a better chance to show his talent.  Looking forward to seeing some highlight film.

"Can't Teach Size"

Hope for the best for Marlon and won't forget his great rookie year. Honestly think we just put too much faith and pressure on him for being an undrafted WR. Hope he breaks out somewhere (preferably the NFC)

What is disappointing is Marlon knew he was on his last legs on the team and yet wasn't in good enough condition to pass our physical? Disappointed in him, but perhaps this was the kick in the butt he needed to get his act together and thrive elsewhere.

I like Marlon, but am happy to see us part ways. Hope he can find work somewhere, because he's a good guy and might have a role somewhere.

But, this tells me we actually see immediate contributors on the depth chart and that we've infused talent at the top, middle, and bottom of the WR group. No room for potential and what ifs, because our 6th spot is needed for a guy that can actually step on the field and perform now.

It doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't in condition.  He had back issues last year.  Maybe they weren't comfortable with how that progressed.

totally agree that his cut is way overdue; he had a good year and I was high on him, but after injury, he wasn't the same.  He has so much of a potential.  Good luck to him......

PS: great person off the field.......

Ah man, really liked Marlon. The look, the name, the measurables, and a decent guy who worked hard for us. He's still got some work to do, but has a lot of potential for the next team to roll the dice on him. Best of luck

Thanks for the great rookie year Marlon and being a good guy off the field. Wish you the best of luck.

I honestly came to complain about not getting anything in return for a guy that's got some size and skill. But then I read your post and your right. What's a 7th or maybe a late 6th. Let the guy go and find the best situation for him and his family. Thank you for being a classy guy Marlon. Thank you for playing through injuries here and there. Good luck wherever you go unless you stay in the AFC north.

Considering Marlon Brown has been more productive than Campanaro, what does this say about Camp and the usual camp injury......

Campanaro showed more and was better last season.

can't make the club in the tub. Yes Camp has shown a ton of potential and I thought Trestman was gonna start using him more and more after the mini breakout game vs the Steelers. However that young man has to stay healthy or he will not make the team. For as much as the fan base loves Camp, the kid has a total of 12 catches and 1 TD in 2 seasons with the Ravens.

I do agree that he showed more then Marlon last year and he added something different to the offense then Marlon. But but he not has serious competition at that slot position with Reynolds and even Butler. Also he's no longer the primary return guy so that won"t be a easy way for him to stick on the Roster.

IMO not much - there are still 11 receivers on the roster and only a total of 7 active roster spots.  If you assume 4 are gauranteed - SSS and Wallace the vets, Perrimen the first round pick, Aiken last year's breakout player - that leaves 8 guys competing for 3 spots, which includes two players we drafted this year.  So Camp still has quite an uphill battle left to make the team.

Someone else said we are "Deep" @ receiver.  Aiken was in fact our leading receiver and the fact that he is considered a roster "lock" speaks volumes about the state of our receiver corps.  Is it the worst in the league?  Wide Receiver analysis? If it's not, its not far off.

Don't get me wrong, Flacco needs continuity and we cannot jettision a guy he connected with as frequently as Aiken.  Or was it Schaub connecting at the end? We really need Wallace, Perriman and Moore to come to the rescue.

Well I'd say lock simply because he's the only guy who has any starting experience besides the vets.  Real game production > preseason/OTA reps, since we've already got proof he can play against NFL caliber DBs.  And I'd say we do have decent depth compared to some other teams in the league - we know that at least 4 or 5 guys on this roster can play in real games against real NFL defenses and do something - and that I think is more valuable than one beastly receiver and a bunch of guys who are easily covered by number 4 cornerbacks.  Some teams don't even have 2 solid NFL starters.  Individual talent wise, yes I wouldn't put us very high, since SSS is at the end, Wallace is a number 3 at best at this point, Aiken is maybe a poor mans starter, and we don't know about Perriman - the rest of the guys are unknown, but Camp showed something when healthy, and Chris Matthews played very well with us at the end there.  But I'd rather be us than the Bengals with AJ Green, and their next best options being a rookie draft pick and a guy who has spent 5 years with 2 teams.

Where are you getting your info about him being out of shape? From what i've heard it was a failed physical not a failed conditioning test. I don't even think they do conditioning test in OTA or Minicamps. Either way it doesn't matter because he's no longer here, but I was assuming it was his back that has given him issues the last couple years.
