Was there really ever any serious doubt they would let him play? Since Reynolds was drafted all you would hear is the Navy will let him play for the exposure as a recruiting tactic. Pretty much a brain dead simple decision to make, much like a free marketing tool vs paying out big dollars to market for recruitment themselves.

Good for him. Any good guys that can also play great football should have a chance at the brass ring for sure. I'm glad he's getting his chance here.

That was certainly not so in the past as the Mid would be required to serve active duty. However times change and that's good news for the Ravens. One caveat to consider is who the Secretary of the Navy is at a certain time and things could easily revert back to the old policy if there is a change in that position anytime in the future.
