how so?

Just doesn't seem any credibility to it.   There's not too many videos out there of an  "alien" that look real...

Anyone want to recommend good movies that pertains to the subject at hand? Preferably the lesser known ones

Not a movie, more a documentary; but the Disclosure Project I thought was interesting. They may still have a video up on YT

I think its real,...Government tries to hide the truth. Just like the moon landing cospiracy. That was done at Area 51

There's too many unexplained happenings aka pyramids and their alinements and the depictions of ancient gods that tells me there are definitely aliens out there. Maybe one day they could return or they could possibly be extinct from some other unexplained happening we know nothing about.

I read somewhere one time that people want to believe in aliens in order to explain all these ancient secrets because we refuse to accept that past civilizations might have been more intelligent. Not saying I necessarily agree but it's and interesting thought.

I suppose this will pose as an interesting question.

A few hundred years from now, what from this era will people remember, and what monuments will still be standing as relics from a long ago age?

In all reality it has to be the beginning of social media taking over. Not sure what kind of music is really unique or identifiable. Or memorable. I'd say the comic book movie craze is at its height. The only new monuments being made in the states are sports stadiums. Lol.

As in we can't figure out how pyramids were built.

They were built by applying lot of hard work.

Interesting, until you spend a minute to think it through and realize the total implausibility of an ancient civilization of humans more intelligent than modern civilization. We would have found artifacts with little to no effort showing their advanced state...think of the mundane things we take for granted -- electricity, cars/highways, power tools, skyscrapers, flight, etc...those remnants would be easily discoverable; obvious even.

So it brings us full circle to the original question -- how did they accomplish their engineering feats when they were far behind us in terms of technological advancement?

Yea, but what if they didn't need any of those things? What if we have found artifacts and just assumed they were for other purposes but were actually more advanced than we give them credit for. Again not saying I agree just kind of playing devil's advocate.

What if they were just advanced for their time? Not like we are but some ancient civilizations were moving and advancing at a good rate

I'm sure some of it could be that, for me, its logic.  Just from the article i posted we have 1200+ planets and a possible 4000+ more.  All taken into account the Kepler can see about .25% of whats out there.  Just using laymen math, averaging that out you come up with around 2,040,000 planets out there (head math, could be wrong).  And i also think that is low-balling it.

I am not suggesting that there is another planet out there where their population is watching tv and online looking at cats, but i have no issue believing that there is a civilization out there that may be very well developed in different ways, I think of something like the movie K-PAX.  Also, doesnt mean there isnt a bunch of cavemen out there starting where we did.

Yea that's basically what it is for me as well, there can't be that many planets and no other life forms.

Wait don't confuse the millennials please.    Most of them think hard work is figuring out how a VCR or Sony Walkman worked .....    But in reality  considering the amount of planets  if you believe in a higher power you would think that would be an awefully big waste of time and effort to do that and not have other creatures some where else .......

That is where things become very interesting, but sadly we cant indulge in discussions like that on here.

I listen to Star Talk about every day, hosted by Neil Degrasse Tyson, the episode i just listened to was about a mission to mars by a private company, trying to colonize Mars.  These people would be sent there without the intention of returning.  Fascinating stuff.  http://www.mars-one.com/

Amazing picture of auroras on Jupiter. An Aurora is an incredible light show caused by collisions between electrically charged particles released from the sun that enter the earth's atmosphere and collide with gases such as oxygen and nitrogen.

That was very cool!  Also you got me hooked on the star talk pod. Very cool. Especially when they had Gene from bobs burgers on. Lol.

I beleive he is on most of them as his sidekick isnt he? He is kind of like the comedic relief.  And there is so many interesting ones, they had one with the creator of family guy, awesome stuff.   they havent had a new episode in awhile sadly.

Yes. Gene is the comic relief.  I have no idea what his nane is in real life. I think one comes out once a week. Me and my girlfriend have been debating if Pluto is a planet. Haha.

Could our pet cats are Alien creatures? These cats began in Egypt when pyramids were there. Cleopatra raised these cats.

Why explore Jupiter? Should we stick to Mars and look into Venus?
