[News] Tavon Young Eyeing Nickel Role With Ravens

7 posts in this topic

I hope Young is ready to play, because CB is easily one of our weakest positions, at least depth wise. From the tapes i've seen he looks pretty sharp, but going up against NFL receivers is a whole different ballgame than playing at Temple. Arrington did not impress last year, but maybe there were reasons we're not aware of as too why he wasn't as productive as he was in the past...or maybe NE had a good reason to let him go.

This is one position I hope the Ravens bring in a veteran free agent after the June 1st cuts...not that we'll get a starting CB, but to at least add some competition and some depth at a thin position.

If he can play year one that would be super awesome. I don't think there are too many corners outside of round three that can come in and compete at a high level (I'm sure there are exceptions). And picking up a veteran corner would be great. But like the Ravens, every team needs starting corners and it wouldn't be cheap.

I like what I am seeing here. A nice pick, and and possible piece of the future, looking forward to seeing Tavon line up against the Squeelers, and test himself. I am sick already of hearing how great the Squeeler offense is gonna be this year, some predict them SB champs already....well they better remember they still have to go through us twice.

Lardarius Webb was a third round pick and before the injuries caught up to him he played corner at a pretty high level from day one.

I only got to watch Tavon Youngs highlight reels not full game film. But the more I watch it, the more I love the guy and wonder how he fell to the 4th round. Imo he looks like a one step down from VH3 but could be better with the right coaching and right system. He looks hungry and physical, we could use some of that in our secondary. Just hope he can pick up the play book quick and understand pees schemes!
