2016 Draft a Franchise: Discussion Thread

I hate codizzle for taking my pick. But whatever. Emma Stone will appeal to my Lamborghini owning team sponsor moreso than you dude. Sorry.

As for Flacco that injury was just a football injury. It happens. He's still a historically durable player who if I can put solid talent around him he should get me to the postseason in my division.

Wilson to me is another one of those that gets way too much hype. Good player; not some elite force.

I actually agree he's overhyped by a lot of people and isn't elite (Though everyone has a different definition of elite), but I'll easily still take him here. Still a really good player you can build around imo.

I would have agreed with you last year, but he certainly looked elite to me this past season.

One player I would have taken over him based on upside, but he's really solid at 7

He did it against some bas defenses (his hot finish). He's got the tools to be great, but I want to see that over the entire season with less reliance on his legs

Easy choice in Wilson. Really good, young, super bowl winning QB. I had him no. 4 on my board

Great pick.

Great pick, make sure to get him an O-line

I feel like his not getting enough respect. The guy had nothing... Luck not having a defense doesn't mean his a better QB

Are you trying to tell me Luck doesn't have speed on the outside? Because he has track stars out there man...
Carolina didn't have anything man, they constantly dropped passes, and they only had one home run hitter. They also didn't have a great offensive line at the time, and for that reason I rank Cam over Luck at the time. I rank a few people over Luck after what he showed us last year.

Newton had a terrific TE, and an outstanding interior OL, and the running game was effective when their lead back was healthy, but he also had arguably one of the most talent-depleted WR corps in the league, if not the worst. He made a lot out of nothing in that department.

If you believe PFF, their receiving corp, which accounts for the top three receivers and tight end, the Panthers were top 5

There's this video series on youtube by a guy named Tai Lopez who's apparently made millions as an entrepreneurial advisor. He's been putting self help ads. Oh, and he constantly brags about his Lambo.

There is an unbiased statement there, I respect it. Cam had no one to throw to, just one great TE, and that's why I feel he was being disrespected when folks where saying his bench warming, role playing, one trick ponies where products of their own. Sorry rant over, thank you and continue

My Guy's got a Lambo and I just drafted a guy with a corvette.

Actually the fact that Tai thinks that Lambos will get him girls makes me feel sorry.

Their best WR ranked 43rd among his peers in receiving, which comes as no surprise. That's based on a ranking that grades the result of the play, meaning it doesn't necessarily outline the impact that one position makes on another. Newton either threw his receivers open or delivered dimes on enough occasions this season to earn the benefit of the doubt that his WRs undoubtedly profited from his level of play, and they were still unable to crack the Top 40. The 6th ranked TE helped mitigate the otherwise uninspiring grades, so the overall of the group is harshly elevated by the outlier. In an ideal setting, arguably none of their Top 3 WRs would be generally considered as more than No.3. In my eyes, and I assume in many others, his receiving group didn't come close to being a Top 5 group as far as talent is concerned.

Carr and now Mariotta.  Interesting to see what we think of the next crop of QBs.

Also, two Raiders off the board already.  Scary thought.

There's one more Raider I can see going in the first round.

That's what I was thinking.  3 in the first round is going to be high for any team, let alone a not home team that didn't make the playoffs.

Good to see Russ getting some love. He was considered by many to be a reach at #3 last year. But coming off a good year, the value is very high at #9. Great pick!

Not so sure about that... That would be kind of a reach

If I was building a team right now, there's only one other guy at the position I'd want before him.  And that other guy is definitely going in the first round.

I don't think so.  He has already proved he is a huge threat and it was in one year...If your going for that side of the ball in the late teens and after...I don't think that's a reach at all

There are a few positions I value more, but two of them are getting cleaned out pretty quickly.  I would have said late 20s.  Teens wouldn't surprise me though if someone sees an opportunity.
