I've always liked McKelvin, but he can't help you if he isn't on the field. 13 missed games last 2 years and 4 straight seasons not playing all 16 and he'll be 31 in Sept. I know Skrine isn't the best, but as a #3 CB with 2 pretty good CBs outside of him I think he'll play fine for me.

Well, speaking of health, you better hope Joe Haden doesn't get another concussion or that's a potential career ender.

My only issue with this sentiment is that Joe Haden's stature been a bigger product of his name instead than his recent performances. Injuries obviously played a significant factor in his 2015 campaign, but that he allowed an almost perfect 158.2 QB rating is at least partly alarming as he was legitimately one of the worst CBs in the NFL when on the field last year. His 2014 season was solid in general though somewhat uneven. I personally see Haden as a Top 20 talent at this position and somebody who will likely bounce back this season so long as he's healthy. But until he sees the field and plays the part, I'm not sure that he's a current Top 20 CB, if that makes any sense. Having to count on both Skrine and Haden to have better seasons makes it slightly more of a gamble than just hoping for one of them to return to form.

Well backup plan at corner is the old man Newman who is still playing well. With two young guys in Johnson and Benwikere I needed to add a vet to the group. Went ahead with Swearinger as the 7th DB. I didn't like him early in his career but if anyone is going to get the best out of him it's Bettcher.

I can't really blame injuries, personally, for Haden's entire 2015. I know he had the thumb and rib injuries (both were minor enough) with the big concern being concussions. However, prior to even suffering the concussions, he had PFF's eighth worst corner grade, so we can't use those entirely as an excuse.

I think the big concern is that Haden has progressively seen his grades get worse for the Browns, culminating with a horrendous 2015. I'm with you in that he's a good corner who's name seems to carry more value than his play.

On Haden, I 100% agree that he is more of a name value right now, but that talent is definitely still there. I think where I drafted him is a reflection of that, because he was the 25th CB off the board at pick 244 in the 8th round and he'll be my CB #2.

I like the Hargrave pick. Was considering him myself.

Thanks. Small school but huge motor. I didn't like the fact that Pittsburgh got him.

Newman actually played some safety too, so he offers some versatility.

I think it's a bit strange though with both Cameron Heyward and Stephon Tuitt there. But I also did not like it.

Can someone take my Board for the night again?

I see a conflict of interest there ;)

Lol. I do try and avoid sending my board over like that, so no worries if you don't want to. My board for this pick is set though.

You will get my Board for my next pick though ! This one I will be able to make myself once you make yours.

This pick is reactionary, but not from the CB conversation we just had in this thread. Coty Sensabaugh was 1 of my 3 backup options to Skrine back in the 26th round and the other 2 have gone (McKelvin and Cyrus Jones), as well as Keenan Lewis who I had highly rated as well. I wanted to nab one of these 4 CBs and with only Sensabaugh left, I had to draft him. He can play both inside and outside and will be my 4th CB. LA gave him about $5 million per year in FA, which is the going rate for decent #2 CBs and he'll be my #4. You can never have enough CBs.

I'll only be up for a few more hours, so someone else would probably be better (mine will go to rmw, allblack and Truth once I log off).

That's a good point. That gives me three guys that can do that with webb and Jenkins.  I'd like to see what this secondary could do together with a good coordinator.

Just admit - he bombed it and is now chasing opposing gunner to trip him over.

There's absolutely no guarantee that Anthony Harris will start next to Harrison Smith, especially with the amount of players competing for that spot, but I liked what I saw out of him in his two starts. He was often in deep coverage and handled himself quite well. I doubt he'd be able to reproduce the gaudy grade, as would've finished 7th per PFF among all safeties, and he sometimes has a slight bit of hesitation when coming down on ball carriers (Larry Fitzgerald taught him a lesson in that department), but I thought his situation was similar to that of Tony Jefferson as far as being a draftable prospect that went undrafted and showed well when on the field after being given the chance. Should make for a capable depth player.

Mincey is one I wanted to take, but not being signed gives me pause.

With Flowers, I wish I had remembered him earlier because he's gonna be a good one.
