Some people want to win now, some prefer to build with longer term in mind. I guess the trick is finding the right balance, which is easier said than done.

How does the waiting list work?  I'm wondering if anyone would like to take over my spot?  You just need to be down with Cam Newton since he'll be your QB.  

I forgot how much I get wrapped up in ranking players and a surprise retirement at work yesterday has me about to become CFO.  Which is a blessing and a curse (time and stress).

So, Division 1 has had some intrigue so far to say the least:

1. @PuRock drafts the reigning MVP

2. I draft a QB suspended for the first 4 games of the sesaon

3. @KDUBB44's first round pick is skipped

4. PuRock is replaced by @Jaybirds

And @harfordravenfan hasn't picked yet

Roster is up:  I'm pretty much sticking to PuRock's script for now, just to avoid confusion. 

I made a lot of the positions generic.  I may end up going 4-3 instead of 3-4;  offense alignment could be a bit different too.  Let me know if it needs to be more specific.

Well, its called draft a franchise... not just draft a team. So i took that as somewhat implying that future counts. I.E. Andrew Luck probably more valuable than Brady since Luck will be playing at a high level another 10+ years while Bradys are limited even though Brady may be the better play right now.

So, I'm drafting as wanting the best possible team to win a super bowl over the next 5 years. Though im sure everyone has their own take or interpretation on it.

People are not going to notice this conversation after a few days.  I figured keeping the same name would make it less confusing for anyone who doesn't read all this.  After the draft, I'll probably change it.

Yeah, most people see it as more of a longer term game than a one year deal or so. For me, I feel like I have a 4 year window with Brady and guaranteed at least 1 year of elite QB play from him, probably 2.

I agree, my money is on 2 barring serious injury. I see no reason for his play to fall off a cliff

I respect that, there's no wrong way to do it. If I had a vet QB I'd be more inclined to grab some young receivers. And vice versa

I'd go with 2 as well. He hasn't shown any real regression yet and he played amazing last year with lots of injuries around him. I've gone really young other years at QB (rookie, rookie, 2nd year), so when the board fell the way it did, I decided to take Brady.

I don't know exactly what your job entails, but I can imagine you'll make a pretty penny to make it worth your time.

Pretty soon, you'll have Cam Newton money.
