[News] Late For Work 5/6: Introducing Ravens' 2017 First-Round Draft Pick

49 posts in this topic

If Dixon has half the season a lot of analysts are expecting him to have, there's no way we pick a RB in the 1st round next year.  SMH!

I like Wally Williams but I disagree with him on both accounts.
Not only does Tunsil have too much off the field baggage, but he missed time because of injuries.
Ronnie Stanley never missed a game. You know we are good at LT for the next 5-10 years with him.

Hmmmm. 24th draft pick in 2017?? So maybe that means a prediction that we made the playoffs this year? Or maybe we did poorly again and just traded back for more 4th round draft picks.

Good point, but it seems we like multiple players at all positions. We are carrying how many now? 6or 7?

Yeah but I wouldn't add a player for depth purposes with a 1st round pick.  Especially a RB.

But we're talking about McShay and his 2017 draft predictions.  We're wasting key strokes at this point. LOL

Pretty bold statement there.

Playing devil's advocate: Monroe missed what 5 games total in his 4-5 yrs w/ the Jags and then came to us and can't stay on the field.

Agreed. And I might be way wrong but would it be that hard to pick 15 guys that will go in the first round? Would make for an interesting contest.

David Reed said he never had one single injury throughout his college career - then he could never really shake off the injury bug in Baltimore...

It's easy for any non GM to make crazy statements. The reporters or bloggers or whatever they call themselves are really no better than most posters on here when it comes to knowledge and common sense (a compliment to our posters). They just earn a living doing it. The only one held accountable is Ozzie and our FO. So yeah, go ahead and take Tunsil and if he turns out to be a bust no one will remember who wrote what. They will only remember who wasted a 1st rounder on him. Same goes for Spence and all of the other low character players some fans wanted to add to our team. Go Ravens

I would use Tunsil to motivate Stanley in the weight room.  Line him up against the new pass rushers this weekend and see how they do.  After that, we will have a more accurate picture of how the new LOT will take the heat.

Sounds like Wally Williams makes a better radio announcer than a GM. Just saying.

Totally agree. He's entertaining to listen to on the radio, but that's about all. His opinion is the same as anybody else on the street: some people are thrilled with Stanley, some will moan and cry we should have gambled on Tunsil. If he was an expert on player evaluations, he'd be working for an NFL team instead of talking on the radio.

I am sorry... but the Tunsil vs Stanley debate is beyond worn out... there is a lot that goes into making a decision... there are two things that go hand in hand... you have to have ability and availability... talent does you no good sitting on the sideline or I.R. I can think that also figures into the equation... from what I can remember Tunsil hasn't played a full season in college... what makes me believe that he will suddenly become reliable???

Congrats to Ray and Janay Rice. I still think we should have kept him and not succumbed to public pressure. All the best to them!.

Stanley has already lined up against some of the best pass rushers in the draft - dominated Shaq Lawson, Joey Bosa, Su'a Cravens, etc. Tunsil has not lined up against any of them.....

I would like to give you a thumbs-up, but the "internet gods" are too sensitive for that.

The Ravens organization used to be a forgiving one. People make mistakes, and far as I know Rice has only made one. A. Peterson stills has a job and I believe that his misconduct was much worse than Rice's. I still have hopes that Rice will find a new team.

While I agree with ya... Sadly, I just don't see rice getting on another team IMO

Is it just my computer, or did the Wally Williams quotes about Ronnie Stanley disappear off this site? Or am I having another psychotic episode?

That also could be a cause of the atmosphere surrounding the team. It hurts just a little more with the Ravens. You all have been in those situations.

And you really thought there was freedom of speech. Shame on you or you'll disappear.
