I'm just so happy for the kid because he looks like a driven, disciplined and stellar young man who'll make the Ravens look good both on and off the field. I won't disregard his emergence will also increase the Ravens' national profile and coverage!

Awesome news! Fantastic reasoning by the Secretary of the Navy. Showing how the armed services help young people establish themselves and provide a secure future.

I made this comment on PFT. As the article states, Reynolds is a high profile PR move by the Navy to let young people see different paths that you can follow if you go to the Naval Academy and excel in that path. On Sundays when young kids tune into the NFL and see Reynolds, that may encourage them to take that path. However, he did say the Patriots long snapper was assigned to a ship and that he may have to leave the Patriots for a year. With a long snapper so what but if you are relying on a guy to return punts and kicks and be a top rated receiver and he goes away for a year, that really hurts a team so the Ravens have to be aware that even if this guy is a superstar, at any second he could be pulled and gone for five years depending on the mood of the Secretary of the Navy and that not to say the Secretary won't change come the next election and the next Secretary could have a totally different attitude. I would love for him to play and put in his 5 years when he retires from the NFL (considering most careers last less than 3 years.).

I'm sure the Ravens did their homework on Reynolds and realized the possibility of his missing time due to his service commitment. They will be able to put him on an exemption list if he is called to deployment. He seems a top-flight athlete and it is an honor to have him as a Raven. I wish him the best of luck in both his military and football careers.

Yeah, you would think that there would be some kind of deferred service program, where he could work for the Navy in the off months and then after his NFL career.

Just think of all the thousands of men and women on board ships or serving in some capacity in the US Navy. They all can play vicariously through Keenan Reynolds. To see one of their own make it to the NFL is a morale boost that can't be bought with any amount of money or advertising.

... and luckily, trick plays have returned to our offensive playbook after a multiple-season hyatus. Before last season, the last offensive trick play I can remember was Tuckers run attempt at 4th&8 in the Super Bowl...
Trestman at least tries trick plays, and that's great news.

Okay, Professor.  it's good to see that English teachers post on here, too.  BTW spell checker doesn't work on proper names.
