[News] Will Keenan Reynolds' Military Obligation Keep Him From Playing?

35 posts in this topic

Didnt that Patriots long snapper get a waiver last year?

Yes, but Bill Belichick has strong ties to the Naval Academy as his father used to coach their football team, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they did it as a personal favor to Bill, nor would it surprise me if they screw the Ravens on Reynolds as a personal favor to Bill. Nothing surprises me in this sport anymore

This was a known risk. He may have to serve 2 years but it's not like he'll get out of shape in that time. The tape on this guy is amazing. Well worth the wait IMO. When he finally gets to play the ravens will have a serious weapon playing the slot receiver position. 88TD's is the most ever. Ozziie stole this guy and people complained because they want an instant starter. How many 6th round picks even get on the field the first year? Most don't even make the final roster and are stashed on the PS. Reynolds would be no different except no other team can snatch him up. If you look at it that way you can see the genius behind this pick.

Great story and great guy, BUT can he even catch ? IF so he would be Julian Edelman clone. Could be the steal of the late round picks IF he can catch passes.

Catch, throw and run. He's played all three positions. He's a TD machine with 88 TD's (most ever) in his college career. He was a 6th round pick. Most 6th rounders spend at least one year on the practice squad. He'll miss two years which isn't uncommon for late draft picks to spend 2 years on a teams PS if not claimed or brought up due to an injury. If they even last that long. Reynolds is safely tucked away for two years and no other team can snatch him away. And I have a strong feeling after watching some film on him he'll be on the 53 man roster after he's fulfilled his obligation.

Yeah, I'm sure the Navy's MO is to SCREW the Ravens.

I didn't say it was the Navy's MO, I said it would be Belichick's MO. You can defend the Cheatriots all you like, but at least do me the courtesy of pretending you actually read my comment
