I don't know why everyone here thinks SSSr is a lock. He's 37, he retired, was injured, un-retired and is rehabbing. People seem to think he'll perform as if he was 34 again. I for one am not buying it. I love his fiery spirit and I hope he fully recovers, but Ozzie needs to have a heart-2-heart with him. He's taking a roster spot from a young'in.

Uhhhhh.  Because he is AWESOME.

I doubt Juce is cut... he's a solid ST player and helps in the run and pass game.  I'd imagine he would contribute more than a 3rd or 4th RB on the roster could.

I think the RB's will come down to 3 of Forsett, Allen, Dixon, Richardson, West and LT, with Juice keeping a Spot at FB.

I think a lot of guys are on officially on notice

RB: Taliaferro, West, Juice, Richardson
WR: M. Brown, Matthews, Clay, Campanaro
TE: Waller, Pitta
OL: Monroe, Hurst
DL: Lewis-Moore, Urban
ILB: A. Brown
CB: Arrington, Price, Rolle (but really, any healthy body here might be guaranteed with our luck)
S: Lewis, Elam, Levine, Brooks

i generally agree with this list, but I still feel that Arthur Brown has something to prove. He simply was too good and instinctive in college to not be given a chance to adapt. I just hope he gets more playing time as ILB is a huge mystery now.

And the award for the dumbest comment of the day goes to....SSS is a vet and perhaps the toughest guy out there, especially at recovering from injuries. I 100% believe he will come back ready to go. 37 or not, he is the fire on offense and before going down this year, he might have been putting together one of the best seasons at age 36 that any receiver ever had. Our offense is far more potent with him out there with Aiken, Perriman, Wallace, and maybe Matthews. Big play guy in the playoffs too, plus he can be used as a rallying figure to win as players elevate their game when they are out to help their brother go out on top. Roster spot being taken? The young players will need to prove themselves is all.

Here's my guesses at possible cuts:

Guys I am pretty sure are gone:

RB: Terrence Magee, Terrance West,

FB: Juice isn't going anywhere. He was one of our leading receivers on the team last season and is a great lead blocker, nobody else on the team does his job.

WR: Marlon Brown, Daniel Brown, Chris Matthews, and Chuck Jacobs (don't be shocked if you didn't know he was on the team)

TE: Dennis Pitta (won't be medically able to play), Nick Boyle (once he comes back from suspension)

OL: James Hurst

DL: Kapron Lewis-Moore, Nordly Capi

LB: Chris Carter

DB: Kendrick Lewis, Terrence Brooks (injuries),

Guys on the bubble/possible cuts:

RB: Lorenzo Taliafero (he can't stay healthy)

WR: Micheal Campanaro (same as Taliafero)

LB: Arthur Brown and Albert McClellan are possibilities with Brown IMO being more likely

DB: Matt Elam, and possibly Kyle Arrington (some rookie/FA will have to beat him out)

I also toss in the "He ain't goin' out like that!" factor. Steve Smith Sr. not only wants to come back, but he wants to go out like a champ. He was well on his way to doing that before he got injured. Look at his numbers from last season! He's extremely motivated and he's gonna make it rain blood and guts in 2016.

I do want to preface that I don't think Juice is definitely gone or anything. It's more so that his spot became a little more volatile, to me at least.

Have a hard time seeing how Arrington is really in danger here. Maybe he is, but I just don't see it.

Outside of a 4th round rookie we just took, who else can play slot corner on this team? I mean unless they're like all in on Will Davis being healthy enough to start outside from day 1 and moving Wright down to the inside, I don't see it.

Pretty clear Webb is going to be playing exclusively safety, so I don't see Arrington's job in danger.

He's a healthy CB so his job should be pretty secure as it currently stands.

I don't have a hard time seeing it at all because he was ineffective and doesn't carry a huge contract. Cutting him loose would be easy. Jimmy Smith and Shareece Wright are your starting corners. I think the slot position is up for grabs between Will Davis, Young, Arrington, and even Anthony Levine. We also have a ton of guys that were either injured or on the practice squad last season like Whitehead, Rolle, and Wilson. Webb could also slide down into slot coverage and allow another safety to play behind him, but I don't really see that happening.

Coming into the preseason it is Arrington's job to lose.

The only way I see that happening is if the Ravens are committed to going full "diesel" package and run twin tight ends out there all the time. We've only got one good blocking TE on the roster right now that isn't suspended and that is Crockett Gillmore.

The problem is that Will Davis doesn't really project as a slot corner, and obviously its kind of hard to envision a 4th round rookie becoming a starting slot corner in year 1. Year 2 or 3... absolutely, and I think that's what we are all counting on.

The fact that he doesn't carry a huge contract is why I think he stays. He has a $1.5M cap number... it really doesn't get much lower than that for a veteran player. A post June-1 cut is probably like a $300-400K cap savings when the rule of 51 is applied. As crappy depth, he's worth that.

I agree he wasn't effective last season, though you could argue that was because he didn't play much in the slot either, since Webb played that often.

I suppose he could get cut, but he'd have to be really ineffective and probably have two guys outplay for him that role, meaning he's like the 6th corner. In all honesty, I'd say his job is as risky as Will Davis' is. Neither guaranteed, but I expect both to stick. Just not enough depth at that position.

This would be an atrocious idea. Wright played well because he had the boundary to help and didn't have to follow plays over the middle.

Arrington SHOULD play much better in the slot. He did it quite well in NE, so we'll see if he can come close to recapturing that form.

because SSS is a lock. Aiken  isn't a 1. we didn't sign anyone to be a 1 and no one behind Aiken is good enough to be a 1 yet.  Not sure how you can't  see any of that.

I'd say Juice is safe rmw. We didn't draft a fullback at all and he is a weapon... So

Who would we throw to on the 1st play of every game if we cut Juice? LMAO

A lot of known names are going to be gone. Remember there are cuts from other teams too, some of whom may join the Ravens. All in all, I expect us to have a relatively refreshed 53 man roster - younger, energetic and winning mentality.

Hopefully some of the younger players are ready to contribute so we can trade some the older vets such as Dumervil, Monroe and Forsett. We could pick up some draft picks for next year and free up some cap room.

RB position is definitely a log jam. It will be interesting to see who stays and who goes and possibly even who goes to the practice squad.

A little premature, you do not know who busted their butts in the off season to become a playa. I say, lets see some competition in camps first. I expected Arthur Brown to be a starter awhile ago, didnt happen......give em all a crack, I want to see who the best 53 are, via competition
