[News] Late For Work 5/2: You're Gonna Like Ravens' Draft Grades

I didn't think Tunsil would be a Raven ever since the DV history came out, no shot. I'm glad too because he can't seem to stay healthy. I wish nothing bad for him but he already has an acl and other leg problems. Glad we got Stanley, the Alfred to Joe's Batman.

What domestic violence incident are you talking about?

He roughed up his step father, who pressed charges.  Tunsil explained that he was protecting his mother.  So pretty much the exact opposite of Ray Rice, but still filed under DV.

Now ask me who I think leaked that video.....

Sadly without context people can be judged wrongly.

Yeah, I actually bumped my score UP on him when I found out the details.  But it still doesn't make up for the other antics, and the injury history.  It's unfortunate though:  clearly there's a good guy in there.  But I don't think Miami is the franchise to bring that out of him.

I was wondering if that's what he was talking about.  I didn't know he got a DV charge for it though.

I don't know if I believe that the step father hacked his IG account.  JMO

Yea and he still is a kid. That's one of the sad things about this process, we are talking about 19-23ish year old kids that will make mistakes but they get highlighted nation wide.  The video of Tunsil smoking doesn't even bother me, I mocked us taking Stanley because of the lack of any issues really, the injury history Tunsil has is what makes me not interested.  But wish him luck in Miami, hard place to be young and rich and stay good lol

My just-a-theory theory about the hacks:   IMO, it would have been easier to do all of that if you had access to a device, like a mobile phone or a computer, that was left on.  The videos/messages would have been on the hard drive already, and a lot of people don't log out of their accounts like IG.   So instead of stealing all the material, and then cracking into the sites, it's all in one place.

So then I'm wondering who would have access to those devices, but still have it out for him.

First of all, you have to believe his story. This is coming from a guy who was in Nkemdiche's room when he fell out of the 4th story window and there were joints and other drug related items in the room. This is a guy who took payments from college coaches to play football. This is a guy who hooked up a gas mask to a bong and took some really long tokes and was dumb enough to record himself doing it. This is a guy who in an interview mentioned his account had been hacked about a dozen times and only admitted half-heartedly that he made a mistake. So, his version of the story is that his step father was abusing his mother and then he stepped in to protect his mother. Supposedly they filed charges against each other and charges were dropped, but the college suspended him for I think 7 games anyway for violating NCAA rules. By the way, the mother didn't file any charges. Laremy's step father offers a different account of the story and said that Laremy came after him and started the incident over something completely different. Here's a link to the story:

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/13370106/laremy-tunsil-ole-miss-rebels-domestic-violence-charges-dropped

I don't know who hacked his accounts either, but to me it seems more likely that somebody had access to his accounts by him either not logging out of them, or for him having an easy to know password. When he was asked in that same interview after he was drafted if he knew who did it, he started to mention something but they hesitated and caught himself and said he didn't want to shoot out accusations, but seemed to me like a guy that had a pretty good guess as to who did it.

So is anybody really upset that the Ravens decided to side step this trainwreck?

If you look at the only indicators you have to go by, which is college production, then the Ravens drafted a lot of playmakers. Guys who lead their divisions in scoring touchdowns, getting sacks, etc. In fact with two picks we got the #1 and #2 all time scoring players in FBS history: Keenan Reynolds and Kenneth Dixon.

And guess what? Guys with character issues affect you on game day when you're expecting them to be there and they're off on a suspension. You can't make plays if you can't play.

So if I got guys on my board with nearly the same grades, nearly the same production, but the difference is one is falling out of windows, getting caught smoking weed, or hanging out in nightclubs and taking Molly until the cows come home...guess who I would take 10 out of 10 times?

The guy who is taking Molly until the cows come home? Its a wild guess but I'll stick to my answer. lol

We get good draft grades every year but the picks never amount to anything. If there was a grading system were they graded at the end of the draft and at the end of the season im sure the grades would be different.

I don't know how you grade anyone on their 4th round picks. Those guys are ALL projects at best. We drafted a couple safe picks early and then a bunch of projects. I'm so disappointed we didn't make the move for Ramsey and passed on Jack. This Ray Rice and Perriman thing has us so screwed up, we can't even take a chance anymore.

A lot of teams cant take a chance, cowboys have yet to resign Hardy when they have no pass rushers, literally.

This whole thing about Ramsey and Jack is already getting old...and its been 4 days.  We have argued that to death already so im not even going there.  The more projects we have the better chance we have and hitting a quality player.  Sherman, Norman, Wilson, Brady, T Davis, Arian Foster, A Brown, KO, etc....ALL 'projects', worked out well for those teams
