Defense...defense...defense Maybe another O-line and WR but more DEFENSE.....Oz

I see us taking a backup center with one of the picks.  We definitely need to grab another CB even though the talent level has dropped off.  We seem to be set at WR and RB, but who knows what Ozzie might do.  I want to share the draft grade write-up on Stanley from Walters Football.  I was shocked at first because we didn't pick Tunsil, too.  His pending law suit and allegations of wrong doing in college with gifts, etc. may be the root cause.  Still, the talent was there and we passed on him.  What do you think?

Over Laremy Tunsil? I wonder if Tunsil's bong picture/video had something to do with this. Still, picking Stanley over Tunsil doesn't make much sense. Some teams told us that they were scared of Stanley's lack of passion for the game. They were also concerned about Stanley not being tough enough. That would terrify me if I drafted him. Plus, passing on Tunsil in the process just doesn't seem like a smart move, given how talented Tunsil is. The Ravens have done well with chracter-issue guys in the past, so I don't really understand this.

How many people think we reached for pick 70?  If we were pucking best player available, Correa would not be it. Who would you have rather had at 70?

My guess is that they were also looking at 'off the field' stuff like smoking bongs, and failed drug tests....along with scout impressions.  You heard DeCosta.  He said that all three picks were "red star" picks.  They have their reasons, and they know more than we do.

Bronson wasn't a reach imo.

I get the feeling we're following the Seahawks way of drafting this year taking guys that fit our scheme and not worried about what the general consensus is on a player. That said I don't think Correa and Kaufusi get much play time this year they may be only 3rd down specialists.

I don't say I dislike our third pick, but the talent we passed on in the second to take undervalued pick in the second and then again in the third perplexes me. Even though we took Stanley in the first, to have LeRaven Clark a second round nasty talent sitting there to bolster the line even more would have made more sense

I believe Clark was there in the 3rd as well? I wanted him badly, he would have been a great pick. Then again, K.C. is a boom or bust kind of guy, and in my opinion, Clark is even moreso.

I'm thinking Christian Westerman offensive Guard.

He is a solid pick.  I thought that we could use some help at guard especially after the injury to Flacco.  We lost Ose but we have one of the best in Yanda to train a rookie up to speed.

So the Titans do the exact same thing with a bigger need 2 picks later and get a B+ and the Ravens get a C-.  Ya i do not buy that grade for a second.

If the 4th round goes like this I'll be VERY happy

4th :

- Jatavius Brown

- Westerman/tretola

- Tavon Young

- WR (cooper/higgins/lawler)

5th :

deandre houston carson

I think he and Tunsil need to stop with the "puff, puff pass" and focus more on their jobs

And they didn't even get a clear cut top 10 talent.

What sold me on Stanley was Harbaugh's connection with the offensive coach of ND and how they run a pro set.  He has the option of plugging him into RT until Monroe inevitably goes down to injury, too.  I'd give the pick a B+ or A-.

Agree, Sheldon Day.  Willie Henry intrigues me as well.  Saw a bit of his tape during the forum mock.  Also have interest in Booker, Dixon as well as Michael Thomas and Kenny Lawler, Kentrell Brothers, Jememy Cash, Jalen Mills among others.  Plenty of talent availalbe and I'm happy with the draft to this point as well.
