But he can only go in a straight line...

If that gets him open and stretches the opposing teams defense than frankly I really don't give a damn if that's all he runs. We're not drafting him to be a #1 or 2.

Anybody heard an explanation on what's going on with Billings?

No medical issues.  NFL network has said everyone is scared off because he offers nothing in pass rush only stuffs the run.  But that is the same case with 20+ other guys who were drafting in front of him.

Anyone wants to bet that Andrew Billings will fall straight into the laps of Marvin Lewis who won't pass on a talent like him?

We have ALOT of vertical guys on our roster. BP, Wallace and now Moore.

Good!  Let one of our 22 TEs run the short routes.

Well really he has already passed on him multiple times...

We probably weren't taking him anyway, but Pharoh Cooper coming off the board sucks.

Mayock apparently asked some gms before the draft and its just that he is a run game player and not much use against the pass

His 3 cone drill was 6.76 seconds which is  one of the best at the NFL combine so  the guy has upside to do more than just run in a straight line. The guy also has 33 3/8 in arm length to go with his speed and solid height

But we already have 2-3 clones of this guy in Perriman, Clay and Wallace...

But that combine drill obviously doesn't matter. Only one that's super important is the 40... And he ran a 4.58

/sarcasm

He doesn't have the hands or routes. He runs in a straight line.

One thing I have to say is this: a lot of people questioning our moves, calling them reaches..another team that drafts that way is the Seahawks and a lot of their guys have really panned out. I say wait and see. Maybe these picks are brilliant.

I wouldn't call Clay a clone of anyone...

I'm not sure if he's slow. I think he just takes long strides. He ran away from Eli Apple and Vonn Bell. That's not exactly slow.

Agreed. I'll temper my emotions as I really don't know the guy

What's the fascination with Wright?

People read his stat line and don't watch his tape I guess.

Value. We passed on VH3 too. But, would we have passed on him in round 2? Didn't think so.

I'd like to see us grab Rashard Higgins and Rashard Robinson (now that I said their names they'll be gone but oh well). I also feel like we're really into these smaller school guys, and I don't really get that.

I'd really like to get another pass rusher like Tyrone Holmes, Matt Judon, Ronald Blair, or take another CB like Kalan Reed of whom I am surprised is still around.

From what I've seen from Tavon Young, it looks like Webb should take Young under his wing the same way Reed took Webb under his wing. He Seems like a sure tackler and has nice speed. Left on a island alot and played decent. Would be better as a slot corner though.

I liked his tackling in the film also.  He looks solid....was near the ball and seemed to know what to  do with  it when it touches his hands.  Lots of natural talent demonstrated.
