I don't see that skill set from correa. If he were to be a 34OLB I think he is the future heir to suggs. he has held down that spot and been held in such high regards for so long because he isn't just an edge rusher, he's not the best edge setter but he plays the run very well and is extremely instinctive on quick zone drops, I see Correa very much in the same light, I think if we stick with the 34 then the plan is to replace suggs with correa after some coaching and bulking up

I just read an article yesterday and that person seems to think that Correa will be used to take over the spot Upshaw left open.

Was it from baltimorebeatdown? I saw that as well and was disturbed at just how uninformed these people are.

We need less news outlets catering to the ignorant and more news outlets INFORMING the less knowledgeable fans. You think uninformed fans want to hear we spent another 2nd on an edge setter? Why they would even lie that blatantly is beyond me...

Yeah that's who it was, but I still think it will be Smith taking over for Upshaw and Correa will back up Suggs

Watching some tape again, I think we underestimate KC's hands, they're violent. Sure he doesn't have the technique, but he has everything else to start learning right away. He doesn't just rush and try to go around the edge like Spence does, he's a bit les "One-trick Pony" than Spence. Against Virginia for example, he pushes the OT around with his hands. Sure it's just pushing and bullrushing, and I don't know if the hands placement is OK, but KC may be more "NFL ready" and less project than we initially gave him credit for.

I'm glad someone notices! KC is a very violent player all around and with hands coaching he will be hard to stop. He is undersized and weak by NFL standards but he is very strong for his size and does everything with authority, 10 lbs will have him at 255 but he will play like he's 265 because he's so violent and hardnosed.

It's simply hard to find a player so fast and explosive who doesn't play overly finesse, thats the difference between Spence and correa. I also think a guy who didn't get enough credit for playing violent and hardnosed despite being undersized was Leonard floyd, those guys will find a place in the league because they have the athleticism to make splash plays but they also impose their will on players and bring a tough attitude.

BaltimoreBeatdown had a couple of good guys that they lost in Matt Stevens and Jason Butt.  Some of the guys that are there now, especially Lericos, are brutal.  I don't post there but I stop in to read occasionally and it's bad.

Their site just lends itself to having more questions than answers. I read them and think, "Did they even discuss the topic at all?"

Here's an example of one of their useless articles, one full of grammar errors to boot.

Correa taking snaps at ilb.

Wow. Such surprise. Not like shea mccllelan at all.

To be fair, McClellan started as a 4-3 DE and I never saw that in him. They did try to move him to 3-4 & 4-3 LB but it never worked. I personally think the first few years in the NFL usually predict a prospect's future success as a pro due to learning their NFL position. Work ethic is also important. Hopefully Correa has the work ethic to be great.

I agree and what I have heard from his press conferences and interviews it looks like he does have the work ethic to succeed. It will also help with him starting next to CJ Mosley and to have Webb and Weddle help him get into position. I love his attitude when he talks about football in press conferences you can tell he really just wants to play and run after everyone. I think that is why we took him earlier than he was expected to go but if he is taking snaps early at that position that makes me happy because he has a solid chance at taking that starting job with Orr and Brown both also inexperienced. Each and every week Correa grows on me more and more.

McClellan is a dude that seriously needed to get in shape!! He was not a defensive end!! He weighed 270 lbs but was very sloppy. Strip the excess weight off McClellan and you have a 230lb defensive end. Can't believe anybody collecting a check to make decisions would draft that guy in round1!! Correas frame is maxxed out. If he adds weight it is detracting his nice burst and already limited flexibility. If anything he should lean out to play ilb or 4-3 olb.

Not sure why you think he's maxed, I also don't see any reason for him to slim down in any position considering he would come into the league as one of the most explosive linebackers already, and being considered slightly undersized for an edge rusher slimming down at all would kill what he does Best.

I can't call someone maxed out at 21 years old unless they appear musclebound with supreme definition, which he is far from.

He can mature his muscularity but he can't tack on to much size. He just doesn't have the frame for it. lol his arms are already bigger than are long. When I say cut excess. I mean cut fat without losing size and power. His arms and legs are short and his shoulders are not very broad. As a matter of fact he  looks about 255 now. He looks a lot thicker than his play weight in college. He is not super defined but he is very thick and musclebound. He has really good burst but he can not bend very well. Kufusi at 6'6 285 can bend better than Correa. You hear very often so,e players do not have the frame to carry much extra bulk without slowing him down. Then some players can add muscle without slowing him down any.

I was only a fan of Floyd as an off ball linebacker, but had he gone to a 4-3 team, he would have been very good.

As for KC, Matt Miller did a draft article once toward the middle to end of the season and said several teams were pushing KC up to the end of the first on their boards.

Nope lol. I don't follow college football like that. I commend him though on the time that he puts in for each team.

Just watched some YouTube clips of Bronson. He just looks so slow to me.

there are quite a few bad things you can say about his game but i wouldnt think slow is one of them... hes pretty quick off the ball for his size and he can bend the corner extremely well for his size thanks to good burst and great reach.

Chasing down mobile QBs and rbs to the opposite side of the field looks slow? Wish I was his size and slow.

Anyone else notice how much he gets his hands on the ball around the LOS? I would like to see Pass deflected stats

thats something that tends to go unnoticed. i wasnt big on deforest buckner but when gets stood up(which was often) he knows how to work the line by shuffling and using that length to clog throwing lanes.

also, his nose for the ball in the pocket is great. some players cant go for the strip, some try and miss tackles as a result, but for some players its just second nature to punch for the ball in your tackle mechanics, kaufusi has that. if hes legit at the next level and gets in the pocket often, i think he forces a good number of fumbles
