[News] Ronnie Stanley Answers Critics Of His Passion, Toughness

12 posts in this topic

I can't say that Ive ever seen Joe snatch any collars or talk a ton of trash... But, I did see him limp back to the line of scrimmage with a shredded knee ! The loudest ain't always the toughest... I'm excited about Stanley and I trust we graded him correctly, and that we made the right pick.. Now let's nail #36.. Jack !!!!!

He actually got into a shouting match with I think it was Derrick Mason a few years back and it got pretty heated before a coach came along and collected Mason. Knowing what we do about Joe, it must've been something extraordinary to get that kind of reaction.

Jon Ogden was also a very quiet guy, also very polite. Trevor Pryce once said, "He was kicking my butt on the field and all the time he was apologizing for it, asking me how my back was." At one point Ogden got upset with the offense and had a heated talk with the OC at the time who then got fired during the season.

You ever been in school and noticed a quiet girl that seems all sweet and innocent? Then you meet her outside of school and find out she's a dark persona? You've got to worry about the quiet ones. Chances are they are internalizing a lot of stuff and they pick and choose when to unleash it. When they do, watch out.

Here's what I really like about this pick. Listen to Stanley talk.

He's an intelligent guy and compare that to what you heard from Tunsil. Tunsil seemed more miffed at the fact that his account was hacked than the fact that he did something so ridiculously stupid. Then listen to a lot of the other guys that spoke with Deion Sanders after they were picked and they sound like they have mush mouth disease, man. Man, man, you know man?

I'm also glad our first round pick doesn't want to go by a panther and hasn't fallen out of the 4th floor window of any apartments.

Between Urschel at left guard and Stanley at left tackle, we may not be able to outmuscle anyone, but no doubt we are smarter and can outwit them. Heck, combined they could probably develop a nuclear weapon, fix the worlds hunger problems and resolve our issues with North Korea before the first half is over. Jokes aside, a lot is said about having guys who are quite intelligent and how that affects their abilities to recognize trends and diagnose problem while watching film. It also makes it easier to comprehend the nuances of the offensive scheme and understand the big picture of what Trestman is trying to accomplish. I also think people shouldn't confuse intellect with having a nasty streak. It is just in knowing when to break it out.

so you spent a pick 6 on someone that has any questions? if somethings been said more than once, start to see a trend, you shouldn't at all with that pick. i get the pick over TUNSIL I guess, yeah,he smoked some herb when younger, when younger, when he was younger,do you think he will again? after this? he's twice as strong as STANLEY,twice and has no issues in his game on the field,no issues,no issues.i guess thats why the BENGAL'S let a few things slide, like we did with BILLICK and they have a team from top to bottom with better players, they may have an issue once in awhile, but we aren't playing in the VIANNA BOY'S QUIRE here, are we?
