101 posts in this topic

The Cowboys got nervous about losing Ezekiel Elliott and turned down a Ravens trade offer. Is this the end for Eugene Monroe? The Ravens will have plenty of good options in the second round.

We know Damn well Harbaugh was like oh hell naw when he saw or heard about guns in video. No need for this article. Why would anyone tell Stanley yes we was going to pick tunsil over you but his video changed our mind.

On a serious note,I feel like it's the morning after a superbowl loss after watching JAX draft the rare talent we wanted and should've had since the league screwed us vs them and then watching us take a guy who won't start at the position we drafted him for until 2-3 years down the road.

I'm 100% cool with Stanley pick but man is it me or has such a high draft pick ever seemed so underwhelming or meh. I think it's because I had my heart set on a defensive baller and to see how close we were to Ramsey and it not happen. I think and hope Stanley will have a long healthy pro bowl filled career.

All I have to say is Thank You Dallas ! Glad they rejected the trade offer. I'm so stoked to land an incredible LT. The thing is this pick will do SO much. 4 year starter at a pro offense. Basketball player who has good foot work. Save money not only when they cut Monroe but for the next 5 years they get a LT at draft contract salary. Monroe would NOT last all season. We've seen it before when Joe doesn't have time to let say Perriman or Wallace get down field now with Stanly he does. I'm not comparing him with Ogden , BUT I do see the talent to be in the conversation. I wasn't a big fan of Ramsey. Didn't like his hip action or lack of a killer instinct. Good athlete, but not a shut down corner. JMO.

Welcome Ronnie ! ! ! Glad your here.

Look for Ozzie to land Ragland or Cyrus Jones. Both available, both 'Bama boys.

It feels almost inevitable that Ozzie will take one of the many Alabama defensive players left in the 2nd round, and frankly, none of them are that impressive to me.

Ragland fills a "need" at ILB, but every analyst I've seen has said he's not great in pass coverage, so I'm not sure if that kind of player is really helpful to us or not.

I agree with you, it just seems like it could go that way. Also I keep wondering if Myles Jack is there @36 do we take a chance? Maybe he last for the rookie contract?

Drafting a OT in the 1st round is like getting your brakes fixed on your car or the plumbing in hour house. You can't show it off but it makes a big difference.

Really wanted Ramsey to fall one more spot though. Just think, if the Browns knew how to kick a field goal we would've had him.

My top 3 hopes for our second round pick
1) Myles Jack
2) Mackensie Alexander
3) Noah Spence

IMO it will be either Alexander or Spence. Its gonna be a corner or pass rusher I know that much.

Wouldn't surprise me if he's off our board all together. Still feels like there's too many question marks to use a top 40 pick on him.

3rd or 4th round? Sure, I'd take a look. If we were picking in the late 2nd (like we normally do), I'd probably take a shot there. But he's extremely risky as a top 35-40 player.

Hopefully he gets picked before us so we don't have to make that decision.

IMHO I def take the risk on Jack at 36, no question in my mind. Be no different than Authur Brown if it don't work out but if it does work out Jack will be off the charts good.

i wouldn't take jones till the third and Ragland is a huge liability in pass coverage.

Its a bigger deal than we give it credit for to completely whiff on a 2nd round pick. The fact that we are talking about Jack is largely based on the fact that we already whiffed on one MLB in Art Brown. If he was a better player, Jack probably isn't even being discussed here.

No different than drafting Stanley. We are taking a LT now because we largely "whiffed" on Michael Oher as a long term LT, and Monroe hasn't panned out as expected.

In a perfect world, we'd be upgrading positions where we need more depth and not trying to replace positions that we recently already attempted to replace but were ineffective in doing so.

I don't know what ya think but I have to thank Dallas to turn down our offer cuz Ronnie is the perfect pick for our long term LT. Dallas think we gonna pick a RB? hell no.....Welcome to B-more, Ronnie!

I think Joe just made a trip to McDonald's this AM to celebrate, going to be buying Stanley a lot of steak dinners!

I see a lot of chatter about Noah Spence for our 2nd round pick, but lets not forget that there are a few pass rushers ranked higher than he is left on the board. I have no idea what Ozzie's rankings look like, but Emmanuel Ogbah is still up for grabs as well. I really like his tape, and it looks as though he is a bit more versatile than Spence is currently. I'd be excited for either of them, but I'm hearing more and more that Spence is a very 1 dimensional player, and looks more like a pass rushing specialist than outside linebacker.

Not to mention that we would only be paying him 2nd rd money also.

Still makes the team better. No team gets every move right the first time or they would all have franchise QB's, etc.

What makes the team better? How do we know drafting Myles Jack makes the team better? He may be a great player, he may be a terrible player, or he may practically never play at all.

Yeah only thing that matters is how Ozzie ranks them, not how others do.

Hopefully, we get Alexander or K. Fuller for CB or Ogbah or Spence for OLB. If we trade back into the 2nd round from our third may be we can get 2 out of 4? That would be sweet.

It's not as exciting on draft day, but when you see him manhandling the opposing teams best pass rushers all day every Sunday then you will feel every bit of excitement!

I like everything you are going to bring to the Ravens, Ronnie. Except the "dabbing." Please keep that at home.

Stop whining, the league did not screw the Ravens over. Draft order is determined by strength of schedule, of which the Jaguars had a tougher schedule.

Some positions look more exciting on the surface and others are more exciting period. Ramsey while an amazing athlete, did not show a high amount of turnovers in college, one knock against him. Doesn't mean for sure he won't be better at NFL, but it has to be somewhat a concern.

Stanley on the other hand gives you everything you look for in a starting OT for the long haul. I like not having to watch the backup QB how about you? Plus the Ravens have the coaches to help this young man excel at the next level. They have been doing it with lesser talents for many years now.
