Listen, all of you posting 'please no Alabama players' blabber - they are the winners and professionals already. If you don't want them, something's wrong with your perception of what the good ball player is.

I really want Spence or Dodd. Jack would be exciting too and Alexander wouldn't be bad.

Agreed. I'm 100% on board with Spence or Dodd - don't care who. Give me one of them and I'm thrilled.

Gotta just accept it at this point, it won't stop

It's like a tradition at this point. What's the bet that the next commissioner gets booed just out of a force of habit.

People hype up every pick regardless of who it is. If we take Spence people will compare him to any number of fantastic pass rushers - people around here have already kicked around a certain pass rusher from Denver - I never compared Alexander to anyone or said he'd be as good as insert-player-here, the fact that some people like one player isn't a knock on him, this Elam comparison is just a bad one. The "purple cool-aid" applies to all players, it's not fair to only apply it to the players that you don't personally like but you buy into it when it's a prospect that you do like. I'm not a big fan of Spence but I wouldn't say people are just buying empty hype, people watch what they watch and make a judgement. Have you ever seen any interview of his? competitiveness comes on a spectrum and isn't "either you have it or you don't" and Alexander has confidence in spades and his work ethic and studiousness show big time. He an extremely smart player and is always prepared. 5'10" is more than tall enough to be successful at CB, people get way too caught up in physical height when it's nowhere near as important as how you use it. The tired analogy is Steve Smith, he's short but he plays so much taller - as does Alexander, who is smart enough and athletic enough to make up for his lack of height. And let's not even start with the "some 'experts'" talk, I can literally find you an "expert" that'll assert any number of opinion on any given player.

Bottom line-- You do not get to that level without a  tremendous competitive spirit. Also, my point is that most don't know what they are talking about when it comes to the draft because they are simply repeating whatever is said and repeating rumors about prospects. I really don't care who the Raven select because they are the pros who watch and evaluate talent.  BTW how do you know that he is " an extremely smart player"?  How  do you know that his athleticism will make up for his stature? You don't. Also, the size analogy, there are exceptions to any rule but by and large size , speed, stamina etc, matters in the NFL.

lets trade our 4th round and move up

This is a draft where you need all the picks you can get. If Jack's knee really is that big of a concern....
