Round 2 : Predict the picks

156 posts in this topic

i love the way Ozzie and his team always get what they want and still surprise the so called experts. Very very few EXPERTS picked Ronnie as number one and yet he could be just the  guy who puts Flacco back on top in passing with his added protection  Now who in your best guess or opinion do you think  team Ozzie will pick in the upcoming rounds. ? Will they go mainly defense or offense for the remaining choices

Another thought I had is we go CB if Alexander is there, cause the drop off is pretty big after him(depending on how you view Fuller) then try to grab Calhoun or Nassib with our 3rd pick (even if it means trading up).

almost anyway day 2 goes I'll be happy I'm sure, I'm way more exited for tonight than I was for day 1.

  • I'm thinking they will either draft pass rusher or cb with the next pick.  I'm thinking Noah Spence, Dodd or Mackensie Alexander, but it's also possible we go with one of the DT's that are available, like a Chris Jones,  Billings, or Robinson or even WR and take Sterling Shepard.  There are many different directions we could go at this point.  Lots of talent will be available with both our 2nd and 3rd round pick.

Actually, many, many did, but it shifted when we got about two weeks from the draft.

I think our front office stayed confident during the QB hype a week or two ago.  We simply stuck to our guns while the experts over-reacted.

It's looking like Dodd, Spence, or Alexander will get to us in the 2nd round.   I also think Cravens would be a great fit for us; not sure if the front office feels the same way, especially with Ragland right there.

On the other hand, we just signed Wallace and Watson.  Our running backs could use some blocking.  Flacco will probably start the season, but let's not get the guy killed.  The same part of my brain that thinks red paint makes cars go faster wants us to grab Whitehair to pair with Stanley.  We'll improve the defense by giving them big leads and plenty of time on the sideline.

It is called sarcasm, I know it is a foreign concept around here but people really should look into it.

It's funny.  All three of those guys could be an upgrade over the person they replace (Canty or Smith).

I say trade back a few spots, grab an extra 3rd or 4th rounder, and land either Sterling Shepard, Mackensie Alexander, or Vonn Bell. I really want Sheppard!

I think when it gets to pick 36, there's no way the Ravens will be able to overlook the upside of Spence or Dodd, and I think they go Spence. They'll get a first round talent with a second round pick, it's classic Ozzie, it fills a need, and frankly I'll cry if it doesn't happen.

If we didn't take Tunsil cause of the bong thing then I think that takes Spence off the board. Especially with the Will Hill thing. I don't think Jack will be there(I hope. I'd snatch him up there). Dodd? Maybe, but I don't think he's better than Billings, Robinson, Reed, etc. Wouldn't be upset with either of those three.

But we take the BPA dude. Jack is easily the BPA, but we might take either Billings or Whitehair.

Stanley-Whitehair-Zuttah-Yanda-Wagner

Thats a damn good oline right there. I'd be estatic.

I would probably cry real tears if we went OL with our first 2 picks. That would be completely ridiculous. This team has legitimate holes on the defensive side of the ball, and there's no way we don't address that early. Corner, PASS RUSHER, ILB.... And we go offensive line rounds 1 and 2? No way, and no thank you. I like the Stanley pick, but I will be furious if they don't go playmaker.

For the remainder of the draft the players I prefer but not limiter to

Round2 Spence

Round2 Cravens after trading back into round2

Round4 Demarcus Robinson

Round4 Reshard Robinson

Round4 Hassan Ridgeway

Round 4 and 6 traded up for Cravens.

Watch Robinson he is a more tenacious tackler than Ramsey. He runs by safetys to make tackles. He has elite speed and acceleration and very fluid and fast. He has a good feel for where the receivers are. Demarcus Robinson is a different player. He has multiple trainers and is making preparing for the nfl his priority. You can watch his work ethic on YouTube now. Of course these are not the only players that would be awesome. There is Ragland,Fuller running backs,Ngakoue Michael Thomas Whitehair Jones C. Jones Dodd Jack

I think picking whitehair is overkill. If we don't trade up and all the good defenders are gone I say we trade down. Teams needing oline would want to trade up to pick whitehair since he is the last good prospect.

Like DeCosta said 4th round is the key for us.

I'd add Cravens to that list, but I agree. Then with extra picks, we can trade up from 3rd and get another good 2nd rounder.

I'm really pulling for Alexander, the swagger is infectious. Of course he's not a finished product and will benefit from taking a year to back up Wright but his ceiling is very high, stays clean off the field and talks mad trash on the field, for a CB I love that. But I wouldn't be opposed to a trade back or an edge rusher of course, I do really like Dodd.

As far as the third rounder goes, I think we'll just take whoever falls to us like last year when Carl Davis fell into our lap. Who will it be? I'm not sure at this point.

I think we probably will doubt dip on lineman but I seriously doubt we'd do it in back to back rounds, Henry and Davis are just plain reaches this high.

I don't mind if we double dip with a lineman, Whitehair is a better prospect than Spriggs. Sterling Shepard makes sense.

I like Spence but there are quality sleeper pass rushers being well, slept on.

Spence will be the best edge rusher in this draft. He compares favorably to Von Miller. Had he stayed at Ohio state, I have no doubt in my mind he would have been picked over Bosa.

The more I think about this, the more I wanted Alexander over Spence. That's not a knock on Spence, but Alexander's cover skills are absurd. We need a shutdown man corner. We haven't had that in forever. He's the prototype.

I see Dallas getting pass rush. I feel they're targeting spence or dodd

Better cowboys take Dodd so ravens can have Spence!!

Round2 Spence/Dodd/Ragland in that order

Round2 Cravens/Ngakoue/ Correa

Round4 Demarcus Robinson

Round4 Reshard Robinson

Round4 Ridgeway

With Ron Stanley that is 5 players with top shelf skills and Ridgeway has nice tools as well. Spence and Ngakoue could give ravens a young top shelf edge rush tandem. Of course there is talented players but these players give value fill a need and have top end skills for Harbs and coaches to work with. And ravens will be contenders.

I like Spence but lets pump the brakes, he ran a 4.8 so he's no Von Miller.

Let's be clear... He had a bad combine time. He already knocked it down to a 4.6 at his pro day. I didn't call him Von Miller, I said he Compares favorably, which he does. Don't believe me? Watch his tape, and look at the physical measurables. I think Von Miller and Khalil Mack are very fair physical comparisons, and like I said, Spence will be one of the best players to come out of this draft. Spence>>>>>>>>>> Whitehair and it's not even close.

This is a common misconception. I'm not sure if Spence is another Von Miller, but when you talk about explosiveness off the ball you look at the broad jump and not the 40. The 40 does not measure how explosive a player is off the snap--that would be the broad jump. Spence posted a 121.0 Inch, whereas Miller posted a 126.0 inch, which is amazing. Khalil Mack posted a 128.0 broad jump.
