We did need O-Line help and Stanley can help us. It took a second for me to come to terms with this pick but I think it will be a good pick. I don't know how I feel about the knee braces I see him wearing in his pictures is this because of past injuries or just for extra support? I do know most of the rest of the picks need to be defensive picks....

Most OLmen wear them.

Man I'm sorry but Ozzie needs to be fired. Only drafted 1 pro bowler since 2009, which is CJ Mosley. I don't care what you guys say, a rookie LT is not going to be an upgrade. Even if we put Stanley at Guard, we drafted a damn Guard with the sixth pick. You could've found a free agent olineman. We don't pick in the top 10 every year so draft a difference maker. Should've gave up whatever Dallas asked for to go grab Ramsey. I guess we will be picking in the top 10 again next year..

There's a reason tackles go top 10 every year and they get paid handsomely.

Now if Jack can fall into the 2nd round and into our laps, then the draft would be a a+

This is the biggest most ridiculous pick!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!? Deforest Buckner still there and we take an offensive tackle with a pick we never get. Worthless!!!!!

If this pick helps the run game then that will also help the passing game.

Running game and passing game does not help the defense!!!

I didn't like the pick at first but then I saw his interview and watched his workouts/highlights. I have been hearing a lot about him recently leading up to this draft that he was the better prospect than Tunsil so it didn't shock me. He is a very safe pick, durable, clean off the field, productive on the field, seems very intelligent and well spoken (yes, that is something that stands out), and has the physical tools. I actually like the pick as the night has gone on.

I can't believe we took a guy who will either be a backup or a left guard in his first year with the sixth overall pick.

I agree, this is ridiculous!!!!!

Running game, and passing game does help the defense, keeps their offense on the sidelines.....Like i said, we got the top LT in the draft, who would have never fallen into the 2nd round....Solid defensive players will be there in the 2nd and 3rd...

You are correct, solid defensive players will be there but not game changers and Stanley is not a game changer. That is what we needed for this pick, a game changer!!!!!

This was a great pick for building a winning team. Some of your guys just don't get it.

Name one game or even 3 to 4 games where a better offensive tackle would have helped us win and get to the playoffs last year??? We went 3-7n with Flacco and 2-4 without. All adds up to 5-11. Offensive tackle was not our problem. We know and everyone else in the league knows it was our defense.

Its obvious the FO doesn't have faith that Monroe can stay healthy, and a LT that can buy Flacco more time to make plays. makes a LT a game changer....O-linemen never get any love when picked so high, but getting one of the top LT in the draft is a good thing, seeing all the top LT went in the 1st round....

(Monroe's significant other): "So, how was your day, dear?"
(Monroe): "Oh, fine. I just found out I'm about to lose my job."

Joe loves to throw deep. Throwing deep means more time. Having an LT that gives you an extra half-to-full second means the difference between an incompletion, a pick, or a successful completion. Trenchwork isn't sexy, but it's where the game is won.

It does when the O is not going 3 & out each series. D stays fresh for the 4th quarter.

Ok, LT taken in first round high are game changers. Name one other than Orlando Pace that has won a Super Bowl.

agreed ... and helps the defense when we can control the ball and control the clock in the process

Ok...so I guess Ravens are not trading back into the first...so then tomorrows
Early 2nd round has to be -Pass Rush, before all the good ones are gone.
Maybe Myles Jack, if they believe hes worth the risk, and hes still available

Agreed ... I think in the long term this will prove to be a great pick and will help us reach our lofty goals. Stanley was a great pick... i have to admit that I was a little surprised and thought we would take Tunsil but Stanley is the safe bet!

Read the article. Jonathon Ogden and Orlando Pace are the only ones to win Super Bowls, great waste of a pick.

Best player is best player, meaning that they help make your team better than anyone else does at that pick. Now there is a solid option if Monroe deals with more injuries. Joe should not be getting knocked around so much anymore, always a plus.

And only 2 in the last 20 years have won a super bowl.

i'm all for keeping Monroe if he would take a huge pay cut, other wise i figure Oz might get a call after the draft is done from teams in dire need of a veteran LT....

Yeah the Ravens DO have an immediate need at LT. Monroe stinks. If they want to protect their quarterback investment, they had better get Stanley ready to go. Monroe was the worst graded lineman on the Ravens last year. Is that the guy you want protecting Joe's back?

where do you come up with this stuff. just because you say something over an over again doesn't make it any more true. Monroe was not even close to being the worst graded lineman for the Ravens.

have to admit. If Jack falls a few more spots to us... it will be interesting.... Raggland is also left... as is Ogbah, Kevin Dodd, Noah Spence, MAlexander, Deion Jones and more....Round 2 should be fun ..... I think we go with Spence but Jack will make it interesting for sure!

I like how nobody has commented on my quote that only 2 tackles taken in the top 10 of the NFL draft have won Super Bowls in the last 20 years. Sorry, there is no saving the draft unless Ozzie finds the diamond in the ruff that nobody has taken a chance on and he changes the defense.
