Thanks for the explanation. For some reason, I thought left tackle is the toughest position on the Oline, I guess it's because edges are highly praised.

Honestly, it probably is, but RG is right behind because in four man fronts, they handle the 3T by themselves  (McCoy, Donald, Atkins).

Who would be the five linemen? Monroe, Stanley, Zuttah, Yanda and Wagner as the starting lineup? That looks pretty good to me especially if Monroe, Zuttah and Wagner return fully healthy and at 100%

That looks good to me too. Like they said, they're going to find a way to put the best guys on the field

I honestly think that a year or two in an NFL weights program (and maybe a year at LG so he can get a broader look at our playbook and improve his run blocking) will make a huge difference. I know people are miserable about the pick, but I don't care. He's a great OT and his footwork is off the freaking charts. Like you say, the difference between him and Tunsil isn't all that much, and Stanley's got a cleaner injury record and didn't have that bong video pop up.

Ronnie Stanley. That guys awesome. That guys awesome. Awesome! He's so awesome, he's so awesome. Also awesome. Awesome!

I agree with Ozzie - Stanley + Kaufusi > Ramsey

If I knew Stanley would have such an appealing personality then I would have wanted stanley over Ramsey to beging with, even without mentioning correa.

I thought leaving the first round without a legit LT or pass rusher would have been a mistake. I like Ramsey but for me it was between bosa and tunsil at the time, and I'm now thinking Stanley's character concerns may have been totally ridiculous, And I've always thought they were equal in terms of talent, so if I could go back I'd take Stanley's clean history or bosa over any other prospect.

Not trading up for Ramsey could very well be a blessing in disguise.

I always wanted Ron at #6 but I was sure Bosa would drop to us

hated the pick, but it was ridiculous to not do my homework on stanley before judging him. i put him second to tunsil because everyone else did which was wrong. this kid is an awesome player and a great personality for our team. I'm ecstatic and I'm glad we took him over tunsil. his personality and skills are awesome. welcome to the ravens BIG RON

i know everyone is loving his personality and i'd just like to jump on the bandwagon and say that if anything the bit of the behind the scenes video that reassured me most was him telling harbaugh that he was only in 7/10 shape - he was honest but looked willing to work

I've gone from being lukewarm to Ronnie Stanley to really beginning to believe he really may have been ranked higher than Tunsil on our board. One he's an outstanding kid, respectful, humble but yet seems to have a quiet and thoughtful demeanor and resolve to him. After reading plenty of scouting reports and watching some tape of him, this kid is really special. Remember the other gentle giant that played for us? J.O had a similar non-confrontational personality but left it all out on the field come game day. I believe Stanley will do the same.

How could you not? Both have the potential to be pro bowl players in Baltimore. Knowing what we know now, I'm glad we stuck to our guns. This non trade will be remembered for a long time just like the non pick of Lawrence Phillips about 20 yrs ago in favor of J.O!

I've come around on those two picks when I look at the draft as a whole but I would trade those two for Ramsey in a heartbeat.

Potential All pro> 2 potential pro bowlers.

We'll find out in a few years, because I think Stanley can be an all pro too.

Correa? You meant Kaufusi right?

Well talking about what WE offered vs what the cowboys were asking, weren't they asking for a 2nd and we offered a 3rd?

I originally didn't like Stanley coming here, then I realized he was pretty darn good, now I see his personality and i love him here in purple and black. Send the rush, our boys are going to be maulers next year! I am telling ya, the Offensive line will have freaking awesome depth and talent, which is exactly what we needed with our QB coming back from an injury.

Yeah, I'd take a clean pocket for Flacco over any defensive player in this draft.

Not to mention Flacco fresh off of ACL and MCL tears.

Absolutely. Our qb makes this team go, and when he has a clean pocket he has been pretty much unstoppable for the most part. A bad LT can wreck a game plan for an otherwise great OL and a LT is all we were missing. It will make a world of difference.

As history has shown us, Flacco is most effective and almost unstoppable if he has a clean pocket and time to operate. With all the fast and sudden receivers and TEs we have now, a clean pocket is too important.
