Draft Day Mock Draft

2 posts in this topic

Round: Player, Position, School, (Height, Weight)

1st: TRADE: Goff, Wentz, and Tunsil are taken. Ravens trade the 6th and 70th picks, for the 4th pick. The Cowboys still have their shot at Bosa and Elliot.

1st (Cowboys): Jalen Ramsey, CB, FSU, (6-1 209lbs) - Possibly the BEST player, and prospect in the draft. Ramsey is an aggressive, press cover corner, with the height, length, and speed to make opposing receivers not get too much sleep on Saturday night.

2nd: TRADE: Goff, Wentz, and Lynch are all off the board. In a desperate scramble, the Jets trade up to draft Cook. They trade the 51st and the 83rd pick to the Ravens in exchange for the 36th pick.

2nd (Jets): Su’a Cravens, ILB, USC, (6-1 226lbs) - Some say he is undersized to play inside linebacker, others say he is better suited as a safety. I say he is the perfect pair to C.J. Mosley. I say he can cover like a safety, and he can tackle like a linebacker. Cravens has the speed, instincts and toughness to wreak havoc.

3rd (Jets): Vadal Alexander, OG, LSU, (6-5 326lbs) - An absolute behemoth.  Alexander has a tremendous frame to go along side the length, and power that makes NFL scouts drool. He is limited from an athletic stand point, but is an unbelievable run blocker.

4th: Charles Tapper, OLB, Oklahoma, (6-3 270lbs) - Whats to say. Hes been a Ravens fan his whole life. Not to mention the fact that he is a freak athlete, with the frame and build to play either the 3-4 OLB, or the 4-3 DE. He is a raw talent, but with the right coaching could turn into something great.

4th (Broncos): Kolby Listenbee, WR, TCU, (6-0 197lbs) - Ozzie and DeCosta said that they want to find a guy in the mid rounds that could be like Antonio brown. I think this is the guy. Listenbee has all the potential in the world. His stats didn't reflect his play, sharing catches with Josh Doctson. But this guy can fly, he has all of the tools of, not only a great athlete, but a great football player.

4th (Comp): Max Tuerk, OC/OG, USC, (6-5 298lbs) - An incredibly athletic, but undersized lineman. Tuerk is a true "Play till the whistle" kind of player, giving tremendous pound-for-pound effort on every snap, to go along with the brains, and the footwork. Not to mention that he is the most versatile linemen in this draft, playing at every position during his college career. Unfortunately, Tuerk injured his, yeap you guessed it, his knee.

4th (Comp): Dean Lowry, DE/DT, Northwestern, (6-6 296lbs) - I know what you are gonna think. But hear me out. I hear a lot of people comparing Joey Bosa to J.J. Watt. But in reality, Dean Lowry is a more even comparison. While Lowry didn't put up quite the stats J.J. did. their frame and athletic abilities are almost identical. J.J. Watt Combine: 6' 5" 290lbs, 34" arms. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that Dean Lowry is gonna be the next J.J. Watt, but with the right coaching, I'm saying he can be a good starter, if not a serviceable rotation player.

6th: Morgan Burns, CB/RS, Kansas State, (5-10 200lbs) - Burns is a high. school track star who made his name as a kick returner. Not only did he average 33.5 yards, per return this pat season, but notched 4 touchdowns as well.

6th (Comp): Trae Elston, FS, Ole Miss, (5-11 193lbs) - My personal favorite safety in the draft. Has instincts, and from an athlete standpoint he can hold his own. He's a gambler, hit or miss. He's either gonna hit you like a truck, or whiff and let you go for 6, he's either gonna pick it off, or over commit. He is a true threat whenever he does have the ball in his hands.

You seriously overdrafted Alexander, IMO. Seriously.  The rest of the picks would be cool by me, but I just can't see us waiting so long to draft an edge defender as a pass rusher in Tapper and I like Tapper. I also think Tapper could go on the 2nd day, in the 2nd or 3rd round. But I won't ding you for that. It's hard to project where guys go. I just don't like where you took Alexander. That's a big problem for me.
