[News] Late For Work 4/28: Watch Tennessee As Potential Trade Partner For Ravens

115 posts in this topic

Ravens have the best chance in 10 years to draft a Pro Bowler. Players most-often mocked to the Ravens. Myles Jack doesn’t exude confidence in his own knee. Noah Spence sent his last 20 drug tests to NFL teams. Fourth-round importance.

Didn't have an issue with the trade scenario from Mayock... didn't really like his idea of selecting Doctson at #15 though. I don't see this organization spending back to back 1st round picks on a WR.

That trade wouldn't be so bad, but I don't believe we can pass on Tunsil or Ramsey or even Bosa is available. But, if we do it, then it is going to be really good. I believe we can get 3 starters with our first 3 picks.

I would want more than a 2nd rounder to drop back to the middle of the 1st. We can't afford to pass on blue chip players.

I really hope we draft Noah Spence. He is a very MOTIVATED player. Always love motivated players like Spence.

I really hope we can get him in the 2nd round

Let's hope the Cowboys take Elliott so that we have a choice between Ramsay, Tunsil and Bosa. If those three are gone I sure hope we are able to trade back. Trading with Tennessee swapping the 6th pick for the 15th and 33rd is a good trade for the Ravens in this draft if the three above are gone.

Simply put, if Tunsil, Ramsey or Bosa is on the board there is a slim slim possibility that we move back. Critics say what you please, those three have some of the highest ceilings and floors in this draft class. We need leaders and blue chippers, not just solid starters.

If all three are gone though I will anticipate a trade back as we could get an extra pick and still land either Stanley, Hargreaves, Lawson, Dodd, etc.

Ramsey is worth a trade up

I like Ramsey too, but it'd cost too much to move up...we'd have to give them our 1st and 2nd rounders and a 4th rounder just to move up those 4 spots

Perfectly said. If any of those three are there we are staying put at 6 otherwise we will probably trade back. I wouldn't be surprised if we use a 4th rounder to trade up 6 spots to get back in the draft late in the first round.

Explain...

He's not good enough to give up multiple players to get, especially on a team that needs to fill multiple positions in order to become relevant again.

And no, he's not going to be Ed Reed.

DRAFT DAY!

Holy cow (thank you Harry Carey) a lot has been made of what the Ravens will do at #6. Here's my simple take:

If a player the Ravens covet; especially one they didn't think would be there, at the time of their pick they will select that player regardless of position because you can always find a way to get talent onto the field.

If they are left unimpressed with the remaining choices they have, they will look to trade down and get more picks. I see this scenario being less likely because of how high the Ravens pick and the options that will be available.

We need some starting caliber studs with our first couple of picks, then guys that can at least step in and contribute as situational players at least in rounds 3-4. Then hopefully you find a gem with round 5 or 6. Fill out the choices with UDFA's and hope to find a return specialist.

As I wrote at another article, if Ozzie realy trades 9 spots down, missing out on every single top defensive prospects, then rubs it in by picking a WR, there will be riots in Baltimore...

I could possibly see it happening if the Ravens know something about Breshard Perriman that the rest of us don't know.

This quote from Myles Jack is downright suspicious. No player in his right mind would intentionally hurt his own chances this badly. One cannot help wondering if he did it on purpos to fall to the second half of the first round, where the better teams are...

Fair enough. They should at least be on the phones to acquire about the possibility especially at #4. Also you're right he's not going to be an Ed Reed, but he has all the tools to be that elite player that we covet.

There is no way to tell now if he's going to be Ed Reed (Ed himself was not really seen by many as the future Ed Reed back then :D) - but otherwise I agree.

Is Ramsey worth two players you'd be passing on to get? I don't think so.

I think it worth trading up if it's just a 3rd Rounder. Ramsey is a talented player.

This year is the perfect year to trade with the Titans at 15. The Titans have three 2nd round picks, and if the Ravens get their 33nd pick plus a 5th or 7th that would be huge, given the Pats losing their first rounder. With two 2nds they could use the 36th and a 4th pick to move back into the 1st round.

But why would he hurt his contract value by intentionally tanking his draft position??
