Which Alabama Player or Players will The Great Oz Select in the NFL 2016 draft?

Yeap. I hadn't really watched him with an analytical eye yet when I had posted that. I just saw a big guy running really fast and breaking a lot of long runs and got enamored. Really watching him though it looks like it was all bamas line allowing him enough time to get a head of steam so that when he reached the secondary untouched he can ram through a db 20 lbs lighter than him lol. I don't think he can hit holes fast enough in the NFL because they won't be open as long as they were at Bama. And when he isn't making first contact with a full head of steam he won't be bowling anyone over because he runs too upright and he won't have the momentum he needs. I think the game is too fast at the next level for him to be anything more than average

Oh well. I'm resigned to the fact that DH will end up my consolation price in all fantasy leagues I'll play this season. Shouldn't have much trouble picking him as the 3rd-4th RB according to everybody but me.

I wouldn't touch an Alabama player until the 3rd. I want Spence or Dodd and then trade up for Cravens, Fuller, or Alexander with our 3rd.

I would prefer Spence/Alexander over anything at this stage, but if Reggie Ragland is available when our pick rolls around, we need to think long and hard. He's the only Alabama player left on the board worth considering in the second. The only other player I want is Drake, but with all of our priorities, RB has to be down our list. We need to address Pass Rush/CB.

How is Ragland in coverage?  I've found a few positive hints online, but nothing concrete one way or the other.

I can't take an ILB over an OLB for this team at this time. We need a guy who can cover, and I don't think Ragland is the best at that, but we absolutely need an outside pass rusher and I don't think Ragland is that guy.

He's neither of those guys, you're correct. He's a Darryl Smith true ILB replacement/CJ Mosley 3-4 compliment. If we are implementing more 4-3 philosophy (I'll believe it when I see it) then I don't think Ragland will be necessary. However, with our rich history of choosing BPA I won't write Ragland off as a possibility. I still think it will be Spence. The FO has been enamored with him throughout the process, and it's a big position of need.

In regards to Henry, I don't see why we should worry. We have 6 RBs competing for 3 spots as it is. I just don't believe with all of our current holes at OLB/DE/CB/S/WR that we would consider another RB.

The Ravens need to maneuver and not stand pat. after the next pick.

Why?

Because in the draft you must be aggressive to acquire your coveted picks. The Cowboys are yearly contributors to our dismay. I've stated that numerous times and if Ozzie isn't careful the cream will get cropped. Waiting for them to fall isn't option.

I agree and disagree with this statement.  I believe the better GM's know when to be aggressive and go after your guy and know when to be patient and let them fall into your lap.  It's a supply and demand issue and you have to stay true to your board and the Ravens do that on a consistent basis.

Even though the board seems to inexplicably loathe the correa pick...

Collective sigh of relief that we didn't take robinson, reed, ragland, or Henry... Anddddd *siiiiiigh*

It could be worse...we could've traded up into the second to draft a kicker or drafted superhero Vincent Valentine with our 3rd, or take Artie Burns in the 1st.

How is that a reason to smile?

Smiled because I had an amazing prediction that definitely didn't come after the Ravens were done with the draft

It's still no reason for a smile

Let's all be happy that our gm doesn't treat the draft like a Twitter troll account like belichick does.

Or that he isn't flat out dumb like the Steelers and bucs.

Sadly I think a lot of our fans would have preferred to see us have a 2nd round like the bucs because of Spence and disregarded the rest of it lol

To  be fair, Buccaneers had a killer draft. Not sure about their trade-up for the kicker, though.

I do respect the fact that they went after a guy they really want.  Sometimes i think Oz should do the same....I guess we tried with Ramsey.

I'm pretty sure we were on the lines with the Cowboys, but it takes two to trade and it sounds like they just didn't want to move down and risk losing their guy.

Gotcha, in the past 48 hours there have just been so many people second-guessing the FO ("we should have traded up - Stanley sucks and Ozzie is even worse!") that it's become a force of habit.

I hear ya.  As much as i was mad that we passed on Jack, Ngakoue, Cravens....I trust the FO way more than i do my own skills of scouting.  It skews things when your so set on a guy and dont get him.  I wanted Jack, Ngakoue, Cravens, and Jakeem Grant...Didnt get one, obviously.  Seeing another team get two of my guys is just a dagger in the heart
