Thoughts/Comments

The only team I can think of that will move up for Paxton Lynch is Buffalo. I expect them to trade up with San Francisco. The Jets reportedly tried to trade up to #1 to select Jared Goff. They didn’t try to trade up #2 that we know of. That is telling regarding their thoughts on the QB’s. They did their due diligence on Lynch, but it’s just that: Due Diligence. They already have a project QB in Bryce Petty. I expect Lynch to go in round 1, but I don’t predict trades so I can’t place him in round 1 of this mock. I don’t expect any other trades to be made in the top 10. Maybe Miami surprises me and trades back with Cleveland, but I doubt it. They have too many needs.

Originally, I wrote the rationale up for explaining every single pick in this mock. However, in manipulating who gets who where, I found that this was getting in my way. Thus, I removed all explanations. I still have them and will post them as requested and will edit into the OP. Some of them should be self-explanatory so hopefully I won’t have to do this for every pick.

The Myles Jack situation is really intriguing. A lot of people say it will affect him and others, including the doctor that did the surgery, said he will not need anything serious. I wonder if he does fall out of the top 5. I like our Bosa pick a lot but if tomorrow Bosa is taken I wonder if our front office has checked off Jack's knee to take him. That is probably what I am looking at tomorrow.

It only take one team and I think the Jags are it. They are in win now mode. At this point, the regime can't afford to care whether he plays 8 years from now. He can come in a be a pro bowl talent ay 1. Additionally, they went to work him out after the rechecks meaning he likely cleared the medical. If he didn't, there is no reason to do this.

Finally, Caldwell talked about taking a pass rusher and how he is basically fine with the depth he has there. Additionally, I don't think Bosa gives them an EDGE guy that they don't already have in Jackson and Fowler

Gotra remember Fowler is coming off a torn ACL, Just like the Ravens they might think twice about drafting him only because they didn't have the chance of their 1st Rd pick play last year.

I agree, but like i said if they think he plays week 1, they probably hand the card in

Oh man Tunsil and Bosa both available. I'm so torn on who I would rather have if that happened. With Tunsil I see another Ogden situation where he plays LG for his first year before taking over at LT but he has some durability concerns and off the field issues. But as much as I like Bosa I think there will be some nice options in the 2nd or 3rd round for pass rushers whereas the drop off on tackles seems a bit extreme especially if we want a guy who can make Monroe work to keep his job.

The only way I see VH3, Stanley, Lawson or Floyd being our pick is if we trade back either with Miami or Tennessee. If we stay pat at #6, I could see Elliott, Bosa, Ramsey, or even Jack ( as long he's medically cleared by our doctors) being our pick. I wouldn't be disappointed in either outcome and may in fact prefer the first set of choices if we can get Tennessee's second round pick or Miami's second and 3rd.

I think Bucs go secondary in 1st (VHIII) and I don't see Treadwell coming off the board as the 4th WR.

The way I see it: Drafting secondary is almost irrelevant if you don't have a pass rush. The Bucs added Ayers.... Color me skeptical on thinking they are okay with that as a pass rush. While Rankins is much better inside, he did play outside at Louisville and their may be some in the Bucs front office who rather than thinkin of EDGE/Interior just view him as a versatile pass rusher who can line up in multiple spots or a second interior rusher who can create chaos. This shouldn't surprise ppl as many had him mocked to the Saints who play a 3-4. They may look at him as a Sheldon Richardson type player.  Additionally, Rankins is reportedly going in the top 10 per Jason La Canfora and he only met with 3 teams (dallas, tampa being the only 2 in the top 10.)

Hargraves is also severely overrated and scouts tend to get caught up in things like measurables. I think he is in for a bigger drop than ppl think.

As for Treadwell: Alshon Jeffrey probably shouldn't have fallen that far either, but he did and I honestly can't see a team taking him above that spot based on how they typically draft.

Looks like Myles Jack isn't even confident in his knee. Report is out and it doesn't sound good.

I think those comments are taken slightly out of context. Still torn on that pick because I think taking a pass rusher there is the right move regardless of Jack's health. They already have a guy in Telvin Smith that does what Jack does or they can just sub in an extra DB.

Im in the process of updating this because apparently the Chargers want to make the terrible move and select Stanley (it's almost comical).

Myles Jack, if healthy, would be a great player. I have no doubt about that. Unfortunately, the Ravens can't afford to spend #6 on a player who may not be healthy. We can't afford back-to-back first round misses on injury. We'll be sitting in the top 10 of the draft again next year unless tonight and tomorrow go well for us. We've got to land an immediate difference maker at #6. I love Myles Jack. We just can't pick him unless we're able to trade back and do so.

Giants say they want best OT at 10. I think this may be in part a smokescreen to get Floyd to possibly drop and/or entice a team like Tennessee or Minnesota to trade up.
