Oh boy... Idk about this one... Could be an amazing pickup but he's very far off from pro ready and he may lack vision. I'd be on board with it but I'd have average expectations

This just in:

Ozzie Newsome has just been relieved of his duties.

Yeah, or DT like here but that left us without elite pass rusher, which is the only position we desperately need.

i don't really think there are elite pass rushers in this draft beyond the first round - there are a lot of potentially good but raw edge rushers and a lot of interior line depth so I naturally would have preferred some oline depth but i like vernon butler albeit not as much as some of the other tackles

Why would they? They fueled their secondary in the last drafts...

Too talented to pass up, just lost Casey Hayward. Plus Ted Thompson loves himself some CBs

Crap. I went with the Dolphins there because they were after the Bears. We could keep those team selections if someone pics players for the Giants and Bucs (assuming that person doesn't pick the guys we did).

Okay, since the picks from the Buccs and Giants didn't contradict the Bears and Dolphins picks, we can just keep those. Or someone can repeat those picks with the right numbers to make it official.

I think he'll do good since he can learn some pass rushing technique from Jernigan, and we have an exceptional history of coaching up linemen. Slight bust potential, but has a very high ceiling and we can ease him into the lineup. Seemed like the Ravens best option for getting extra pressure on QBs and controling the line of scrimmage, but without reaching for an edge guy that shouldn't be picked this high.

I would agree with all of this, I just have reservations about DLs who get great penetration and then seem to get lost after. It is fun to think about him and jernigan bookending Williams against the run and then sliding into DT in the nickel.

I would really hope we try desperately to trade up for Calhoun if he begins to slide though, or I hope correa slides to us in the 3rd

He's also playing against college players. Joseph plays a lot like Elam did in college, he plays with reckless abandon and he is just too small for that at the next level. Granted he looks much smarter in coverage than Elam ever did, I don't dislike him but I just don't think super highly of him as a pro.

From that premise it follows that Cravens will struggle(even more)at getting off blocks and will fail in coverage against nfl backs and tight ends.
