I'm not sure if you're aware of this, but the all-star game is for the best performers in the first half of the season.  Chris Davis was not that.  Encarnacion was that.

Home Run Derby rules are stupid! 4 Minute clock?  I like the 9 out rule. Baseball is played by innings by outs not by clock. I got a better idea. Why not take outs away from the game  and make 15 minute innings? You get as much at bats you want but you must score runs within 15 minutes per team at bats. Why not that idea? Yeah make baseball just like the NFL. its played by a clock

I got a question to ask sports fans here. What if they made Baseball bats from ash trees. Are they stronger than bats made from hard maple trees thats why you see many broken bats hit. Let me give you example here. How many of you ever watch Hurling? I never saw an Hurling bat break. Hurling bats are made from ash trees in Ireland. So what if they start making bats from ash? Will we see less broken bats in play?

What's the fun in that?

The fun is nobody gets hurt. Sooner or later a broken bat will hurt somebody.

Should there be a rule in baseball next year all open air and retractable roof stadiums must grow real grass no turf! Theres no reason why they should be real grass at Rogers Center. All other retractable roof stadiums have real grass grown. Just look at Arizona and Miami

I mean if people are still accusing ortiz of being a ped head I won't deny it, because i'm fairly sure most players in baseball and football for that matter use it. I don't think he's any different to the rest, except he is a good player instead of another roider like A rod who's garbage. I wanna say cleveland has a decent shot at the AL as well but I think they are way too injured atm.

Ha ha ha. Love it. Ortiz gets a pass but A-Rod doesn't? You must be from Boston, huh?

Um no, why would A rod get a pass, he hasn't been nearly as good a player as ortiz. And like I said I believe everyone's on roids of some sort. I'm not a red sox fan or from boston so.

Sad news, Miami Marlins Pitcher Jose Fernandez died this morning in a tragic boating accident along with 2 others. Fernandez's career started out well winning NL Rookie Of The Year in 2013 before having 2014 and 2015 end with Tommy John Surgery. This season he returned to form with a 16-8 record with a 2.86 ERA and was second in MLB with 253 Strikeouts. He was 24.

Quote

Upon arrival, a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Fireboat found the boat upside down and crashed into rocks. Three victims were found dead and rescuers continued searching for more people. The boat involved in the crash is approximately thirty feet long.

The worst part about the Jose Fernandez news is that he just announced five days ago that his girlfriend is pregnant. It is an absurdly sad situation all the way around. Made my eyes water up.

The Shift is stupid...Thry should make a rule,,2nd baseman cannot cross second base until ball is hit. and Shortstop and 3rd baseman cannot cross second base until ball is hit.

That was a nice tribute to Jose by the Marlins last night.

Shows that athletes aren't all about the money.  Some truly enjoy the game and the friendships that come along with it.  Great job all around by the Marlins.

Agreed. Remember when Koji cried when he was traded from the O's?

I'm going for cleveland to win it all, otherwise cubs are cool too.

I'm rooting for Cleveland just cause I want to see another Cleveland team win while the Browns remain forever cursed.

The World Series is heading toward being between a team that has been cursed, hasn't won a Championship in over 100 years and a team whose city has gone through the worst luck in Sports History.

Either The Cubs win or the Cleveland Sports Revival continues unless your the Browns.

I don't really see a way the Cubs don't win.

Dominant starting pitching and bats that can hit for power and contact. Plus, having a closer who can throw over 100 MPH doesn't hurt, unless you're the catcher.

Indians are one game away from a 4-0 sweep and a trip to the World Series. Cubs/Dodgers are tied at 1-1 after 2 games.
