[News] How Ravens Could Get Top-Rated Laremy Tunsil

56 posts in this topic

If Tusil is there... He will be a Raven.... the only possible scenario where that may not be true is if somehow both Ramsey and Tunsil are both available at 6. Then is would be "ify" but could still see us taking Tunsil even over Ramsey.... although I think I personally would want Ramsey... I don't know that you can go wrong by locking up a top notch LT for years to come~!

That would be a dream scenario for Ozzie.

Ryan, Have you forgotten about Jalen Ramsey? If your scenarios happen as you state Ramsey falls into the Ravens lap and there is no way they pass on him.

How so? Unless I missed it he doesnt state who SD would choose over Tunsil. It is widely assumed it would be Ramsey.

Tunsil's off the field issues are one thing and there are several, but his injury history is a big red flag to me!

Off the field issues:

"Arrested (June 2015) following a domestic dispute with his stepfather (charges eventually dropped), which led to NCAA investigations. Suspended for the first seven games of the 2015 season for accepting impermissible benefits and for not being "completely forthcoming" when initially questioned by the NCAA."

Injury history:

"Routinely banged up over his career - missed 2013 bowl game due to left knee sprain (December 2013); missed two games due to a partially torn right bicep (October 2014); suffered fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle in the bowl game that season, which required surgery and sidelined him for 2015 spring drills."

Jonathan Ogden redefined the Ravens running game but we don't have a power runner like Jamal Lewis was back in the day.

I see no scenario where Ramsey falls to us. Either Dallas takes him, as expected, or SD or Jacksonvilke take him, less expected. Or someone trades up ahead of us to get him. Tunsil is unlikely to fall but is somewhat more conceivable as two of the teams ahead of us seem very focused on defense. If Jack falls to us it will be because other teams are concerned about the knee, and if so I think we avoid him too. So that realistically leaves Bosa or Buckner at 6, or if we can swing it, a trade down 1-3 spots and still nab Hargreaves or Zeke. Not too shabby.

Buckner would be my choice over Bosa. I'd hate to see us trade down.

I don't think we should overthink this. If Ozzie picks at #6, I think whoever he picks - Bosa, Jack, Elliott, Stanley, Tunsil, Hargreaves, Buckner - has about the same likelihood to become a very good player for us.

Whichever of these players will be announced by the commish at #6 (provided Ozzie doesn't trade down), I'll be happy.

I think Buck Allen has the chance to be something similar.
But first let's see his sophomore season.

I have the feeling these two trades increased the likelihood of us trading own... At #6 there will be players quite some GM's would love to see on their team, but saw no chance of being on the board at #6... And if it's a team that has enough picks to offer a good compensation - for example either of the two teams who traded out of the top two spots, the Titans and the Browns... - Ozzie may easily trade down...

Chargers, Cowboys, and Jaguars will all be getting calls from teams interested in Tunsil, and the Chargers and Jaguars both could consider drafting Tunsil, since neither team has a reliable LT.

Highly doubt Tunsil falls that far, but hope I'm wrong.

This is going to be the most exciting trade back in our history.......

Right? I could really see it happening. I don't think it will be that far though. The farthest I see us trading back, and still don't think it happens, it to #20 with the Jets. A lot of teams will be calling to come get Paxton Lynch, including the Browns. I think we could trade with the Browns. Maybe get another 2nd rounder and move back to #8, because SF will be hot on Lynch probably. I don't know what we would think about letting a division foe get a possible franchise QB, but another early pick would be nice.

NOTE: I don't see Eagles taking a qb with the second pick. What they need more than a qb is a dynamic rb. With the second pick of the 2016 NFL draft the Philadelphia Eagles select EZEKIEL ELLIOTT rb Ohio State

You could be right.. Since they like getting rid of all the ones they draft..

So, basically, we should pass on Tunsil because he may or may not smoke weed.

Yeah, we are going to have a tough time drafting a lot of really good players if that's the case.

And yes, falling off a balcony would be significantly different than not falling off a balcony.

We drafted a guy who fell down the stairs (remember Sergio Kindle?). Why not a guy who allegedly feel off of a balcony? Just kidding of course.  Amazing how all this negative garbage about these players starts popping up this time of year. Just put on the tape and you can see Tunsil would solve a lot of problems for us and also create some cap place when our current LT is waived or restructures.

1. No RB is worth the #2 pick. If he plays exactly like Adrian Peterson, you probably still lost on that deal.

2. Their GM has already said they are taking a QB... obviously

There is no way we take Elliot that early, and Kiper must be high if he seriously thinks that's a possibility. We have old OLB's, one who's coming off an injury. We need a starting CB to pair with Smith, Wright could do it if need be. We also need a starting ILB with speed. We are so deep at RB that there is no need to draft one this year, and Elliot no matter how good he is, is definitely not 6th pick good. As for LT, I say we stick with Monroe. When he's healthy he's a good, solid player, and he's healthy this year. Plus, we have too much money tied up in him to just cut him. Even if we push it back to after July 1st, that's 4.4 mill in dead money next year. It's not worth it. However, if he Ravens think Tunsil is a franchise LT, then take him. You have to. But I would prefer a defensive player, because that's what we need. In order, Ramsey, Jack, Bosa, then Buckner. But I'd be happy with any of them.

Tonsil There Take Him ..  Another player who could possible keep Joe on his feet. and  Since we are Ravens fans, who ever we pick has to be able to play after pre season is done.  PUP is an undesirable term for us.
