[News] Joe Flacco Happily Finds Offensive Meetings 'Redundant'

19 posts in this topic

He'll have a new OC next season if they don't get that running game back. The running game is what separated those 2014 Baltimore Ravens from the rest of the league. I never understood why Trestman refused to establish the run early in games. That is NOT playing like a Raven. We play in the AFC North, where the biggest bully rules with an iron fist. This offense needs to set the tone early in games by pounding the rock. I don't really care how many yards Joe throws for, I just want to win games.

Was all 4,857 of ur post negative? No doubt years ago we had a vanilla offense but we've made improvements. Can you think of anything positive to say (and not that ur positive perriman is a bust) lol

I'm kinda curious about how our WR roster is going to play out...we have Smith, Wallace, Aiken and Perriman as givens to make the roster, Butler, Campanaro, Clay, D. and M. brown, Waller, who their trying to convert to TE. (would they keep him on the roster if he can't cut it at TE? Put him on practice squad?) And thats not accounting they may draft a WR also.

It seems we really do need a return specialist. They keep trying Campanaro, but he just dosn't seem comfortable. Clay had a decent showing at times last year-would he beat out Campanaro, who hasn't shown much of anything-but the Ravens seem to like? Or do we draft a rookie with some speed and toss him out there?

Yeah, I know with the injuries to Smith and Perriman we need to keep some depth at WR, but how many do we carry into the season? six? seven? Other than the four guys who are locks ( and two of them coming off injuries), it looks pretty muddled with not a lot of guys you would trust.

At this point, I would keep Clay as our return man. He did a good job last year and WR position is still pretty deep with returning players.

There was a game last year where we went 4 plays or less 7 times from our first 9 possessions. Then after the game people around here were like "I can't believe the Defense ran out of gas"

Trestman made a few nice changes to our offense but it's time Harbs intervene and forced him to run the ball a bit more.

Sure it's not as sexy as throwing for 400 yards but the sexiest thing in football is that W.

We need to run the ball more often and finish when its first and goal. Gone are the good days where we just punch you in the mouth 4 times if we even smell first and goal.

in defense of trestman as far as the lack of running game is concerned. the defense was very weak and giving up a lot of points for the most part which put the offense in more passing situations. the o-line dealt with injuries to monroe, zuttah and it took wagner a good portion of the season to get back to his normal self. all of that inconsistency with the o-line will kill the run game. aside from sss we did not have a reliable chain mover. camp was injured yet once again, max was still learning the offense and playing like a rookie and gilmore was in and out with injuries as well. i believe trestman is the right guy to run the offense but he needs luck from the injury gods to allow his offense to get into a rhythm. this team lacks a power back for short yardage and goal line. taliaferro has good size but is always hurt and we shall see if richardson was a steal.

I would bring in Moritz Boehringer and give him a chance to be a returner. He's from Germany, is 6'4'' 230lbs, and is faster, stronger, more explosive, and has a better vertical than any big WR on our roster. Marlon Brown will probably be cut because he's done absolutely nothing after his rookie season. They'll keep Waller because he's a good special teams player. I would think the Ravens carry 6 wide outs.

Positive to say......Raven have finished in third place the last three years and not fourth. I guess that disappeared when Ray and Ed left.

I believe him being in the first year of a new system for the third year in a row was apart of the reason for the amount of turnovers he had.As long as Flacco stays healthy and Smitty and Monroe stay relatively healthy,I see the offense being strong this year.

Joe is bored?! He needs to be in there running extended play plays or pump fake plays because he locks on his WRs known around the league and taking sacks and blaming the O line is getting boring! I'm just sayin Ozzie and Co are working their butts off in the off season and it's time for them to enjoy the fruit of their labor while their still ripe! It's all on Joe PERIOD! Bored ?! Smh open up that play book some more add more pages since Marc stayed for now! Joe this is your team! Lead it please Ray Ray is gone!

Shore up the trenches, stay healthy, and expect to see Joe break 4k passing yards

agreed ... but if joe is bored he can work on managing the pocket better and sliding away from pressure

It's good for Flacco and the Ravens and since Joe is recovering from an injury it is even better that nothing has changed much from last season so he can concentrate on his rehabilitation and not on learning a whole new offensive scheme.
