[News] Late For Work 4/20: What Ravens Draft Board Might Look Like

47 posts in this topic

With the Eagles securing the number 2 pick from Cleveland, it is almost a guarantee that wentz and goff will go 1 and 2 now. Where before we "thought" Cleveland may go qb, now it is almost a certainty.

I was about to post the very same thing. This is a great development for the Ravens because two QB's are definitely going before our pick. We've got a chance for somebody to fall to us that really shouldn't have otherwise and there is no way I am trading out of the #6 pick now.

I don't understand how NOT to consider Tunsil or Stanley as the very strong, probable #6 picks for the Ravens. Both of these players clearly separate themselves from the rest of the class of Tackles in the draft. So much is put on the performance of one day, or press coverage, of personal opinion I do not agree that there is enough evidence to really prove one will be a better NFL player than the other.. These two young men have played all Ammerican Tackle positions at the top collegiate level. Sure we do not know what it will take for ether to develop as NFL players however they have been observed by scouts and coaches for years, game after game, of which I would put stock in much more than that of banter or commentating. The Ravens need at OT is huge.To use this pick otherwise on a judgement of equal Merritt and performance when clearly the likes of the DB, DT WR and others at the top of the class do not surpass (at superstar level) either Stanley or Tunsil would be at best risky. My choice is take one of the tackles, it might not be the popular choice but it is the sound football choice for this team right now. Move to 2nd, 3rd and then the 3 -4th picks and get a group of young position players to develop, and maybe a "gem".

Conklin is moving up the draft board and Stanley has been falling. Tunsil is far and away the cream of the crop and after that there isn't a huge difference between Stanley and Conklin. There is no way in the world I would take Stanley at #6, that's just way to high for him.

Hard to say that without knowing what offers you might receive. Picks can always be traded IF the price is right. Given the above scenario that price might be too expensive for most teams, except the Rams.

We couldnt have asked for a better day now that PHI has moved to #2 it is almost a certainty at least 2 QB's will be taken ahead of us. This may put pressure on other QB needy teams to desperately jump ahead of SF to reach for another QB? SD decides it cant pass on Tunsil and we land either Ramsey or Jack. I can dream can't I?

Somewhat of cross posting from yesterday's thread, but I wanted to state again, the alternate, alternerte jersey they are pushing can/could be a good thing. I like the example above, but they could go more extreme.

The "color rush" idea is flawed. Using colors not normally present in nature is just a horrid idea, that means for most people the eye is trained to see them as unnatural and want to avoid them. The result is the intense dislike of the concept, because the solid color uniforms are associated with visual displeasure. The "keep going with it" is just following the sunk cost fallacy, throwing good money after bad because of "the investment". They should sink the "color rush" and switch to an alternate, alternate uniform. Call it the Ultimate uniform, whatever.

The Ravens seem to have the idea about right, if they want to do a special uniform game (Thursday) they need to do a radical redesign that people have a chance of finding pleasant.

That's a dream that could become reality. If QBs go 1-2, and Tunsil goes to SD, we are getting Bosa, Jack, Ramsey, or Buckner. What would be incredible is if the Cowboys take Elliot, then we are guaranteed to be picking from 3 out of 4 top defenders. I still highly doubt we get Ramsey, but our chances have increased for Bosa, Jack, and even Tunsil. He could fall right in our laps.

Am I reading this right a QB in third? No sense in having a QB if you can't protect the QB or stop the other team from scoring.

I wish they did not have to do it but Ravens need to fix their Offensive Line first. Letting Osemele go hurt getting Bosa & Ramsey.

I think the chargers will have the biggest influence as to who falls to us as they could go 3 ways in draft Tunsil, Ramsey or Buckner (hope they go Buckner).
The Cowboys have another linebacker suspended in Lawrence so think they select Bosa or Ramsey. Jags will likely go Ramsey if there or Jacks (if they are ok with his medical) see them trying to trade down.

Would leave us with choice of two from Tunsil Buckner or Jacks. Behind them Hargreaves/Stanley/Elliott there after them I believe there is a drop off in talent. So for me wouldnt trade out of top 10

i saw your post yesterday. I am not sure what you mean by "using colors not normally resent in nature". Can you clarify this.

If the Ravens take a QB I hope its Christian Hackenberg. This is a kid who everyone is saying needs time to develop so why not grab him and let him sit and develop for a few years.
