Quick Mock 2.0

57 posts in this topic

1. L.A Rams - QB, Jared Goff

Rumors from scouts and multiple "unnamed sources" say Goff is the guy, that could be a smokescreen for Wentz but only the Rams brass know for sure at this point. They will need to upgrade the offense but for the time being he has a strong ground game to lean on.

2. Cleveland Browns - QB, Carson Wentz

It was either Goff or Wentz and Wentz gives them the prototype and mettle to mix it up with the AFC North. As much potential as Wentz has Cleveland is the worst place he could possibly end up and could be looking for a new team in three years.

3. San Diego Chargers - DB Jalen Ramsey

They need OL help in the worst way but their issues stemmed from injuries and lack of continuity on the interior. They need a center and guard and there are better ones on day 2 and 3. Ramsey is the guy.

4. Dallas Cowboys - LB Myles Jack

The Cowboys broke up with Joey Bosa after the combine and decided to move on with Myles Jack.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars - DE Joe Bosa

Bosa lines up at base end opposite Fowler, giving the Jags the potent pass rush they've been trying to build for years. Bosa/Marks/Jackson/Fowler is NASTY.

6. Baltimore Ravens - LT Laremy Tunsil

BPA Joe gets his blindside tackle and the line gets an upgrade.

17. Baltimore Ravens - OLB Noah Spence

The Atlanta Falcons have 5 picks and opt to trade back, for the 17th overall pick they receive the Ravens 2nd, 3rd, and two 4th round picks and a 5th round pick from 2017. The Baltimore Ravens select their pass rusher of the future.

132. Baltimore Ravens - LB Jaylon Smith

We take a flyer on arguably the drafts most talented linebacker.

134. Baltimore Ravens - CB Keivarie Russell

Smart #2 press corner with good size and plus athleticism. More of a solid production guy than a flashy splash play guy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Lm3CuVl9WQ

182. Baltimore Ravens - OLB Tyrone Holmes

Instant get off when he reads pass, fast hands and feet, club inside move is good and so is his outside rip which he flattens right into the QB. He tormented Wentz in the NDSU game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2nOaqx6AQQ

209. Baltimore Ravens - DL David Onyemata

Small school freak who dominated at the Shrine game, big, fast and plays with urgency. No bad weight.

Yep, one offensive player:D

The more plausible combo would be Bosa/Spriggs I just wanted to switch things up, I don't even know if I like it because of the risk.

That's unrealistic trade value. We can move up for far less. Two fourth round picks and a fifth in 17'. But I like the draft picks you do have slated for us. I too think two QBs will be taken in the the first two picks of the draft.

Too early for jaylon Smith in my opinion, especially for a guy who already is out for this coming year and possibly forever.   He may never be cleared.   Like Tunsil though

Jaylon Smith is a hell no at that pick  imo, dudes out for this year and possibly forever

That is far too much to trade for Spence. I feel there will be better options available at our second pick. I would not be surprised to see Spence available at pick 36. We have far too many holes in our roster to give up so many picks.

Smith is definitely out this year but word is scouts are convinced it's a one year investment/redshirt deal, he might end up like Marcus Lattimore but we'll see he has 17 months to rehab.

I think Smith is worth the gamble in the 4th even if you hate him. I can see the Broncos, Patriots, or Seahawks taking him due to their third round compensatory picks. I'd even trade up just to get ahead of those teams since I doubt it would cost a lot.

I like this mock quite a bit tbh. I think the top 5 could realistically end up that way (although I have a weird feeling for Jags taking Buckner); but I definitely think Tunsil could fall to us like that and there's no way we pass up on him. Love the idea of us moving back into the 1st round for a pass rusher, Spence is a beast but his past drug history will concern the Ravens greatly.

I would switch between Bosa and Jack. I think the Boys take either Ramsey or Elliott. I think the Jags take Jack (in fact it's been reported that Gus Bradley and the GM are making a trip to meet with Jack again in the west coast). I also think the Tunsil will go to the Chargers with their #3 pick.

Here's what I think:

1. Goff

2. Wentz (Cleveland or Cleveland trade with either the Eagles or SF)

3. Tunsil (Chargers)

4. Ramsey (Cowboys)

5. Jack (Jacksonville Jags and the name makes too much sense)

6. Buckner or Bosa and I can't guess who we'll take.

Yeah I think if you've got the ammo to spare, it's worth the risk.

I think you got it wrong on your first few picks. I think Chargers go Tunsil, Dallas Ramsey, and Jacksonville Jack. I feel like you forced the first few picks so we'd get Tunsil. Just my honest opinion.

I agree, except I think we'd take Joey Bosa over Buckner and I don't think it's close.

We could take Buckner, but that would mean our FO has a precise idea of what it wants to do with Buckner and how to make him reach his ceiling.

Is it because of need or because you believe Bosa is just a far superior prospect?

Most scenarios we end up with Bosa, thats more realistic but a pretty boring place to start.

I just don't see Buckner unless we trade back. Just my opinion, though, and my opinion isn't gospel or written in stone because I've been wrong plenty. I just think we'll prefer Bosa because we won't outsmart ourselves and take the guy once projected as the top player who graded as one of the most disruptive college pass rushers.

I think both have their warts but here's the deal: I think Bosa fills a greater need but also I don't think Ozzie Newsome over thinks the decision. He'll take the guy considered the top prospect before people changed their minds. That's how he operates. Could Bosa bust? Yep. I wouldn't even mind trading back, but I feel like Bosa is a Raven and the real question is who will be our second round pick.

That's true. I guess it all depends on the purpose of your mock and whether it's a prediction or what you hope or want to see happen. I recall predicting Bosa makes it to us quite a while ago and getting some flack on it as people said he'd go to Dallas or San Diego or Jacksonville.

I would be furious if we traded away a 2nd, 3rd, 2 4ths and a 5th for Noah Spence.  I'd honestly be furious if we traded away that much for anyone in this draft.

We're almost guaranteed to get at least 2-3 solid players out of those picks based on drafting history.  Unless you're nearly positive that a player is going to be a hall of famer, that is FAR too much to trade.

I honestly think Noah Spence is pretty overrated by fans and media as well.  I believe he's a top 50 talent, but he's definitely not top 20.  The "top 5" hype was vastly overstated.  I'd be willing to bet a good amount of money that he's not taken in the top 30 and that he'll be taken somewhere between 32 and 50.

Oh don't worry, I fully agree with you, and if we took Buckner over Bosa I'd be pretty shocked. But if it happened, imo that would be because Ozzie and co see Buckner as the more talented guy, and that they know how to make him reach his ceiling. So I'd be OK with that.

All those picks for an overrated pass rusher and a reach on an injured player. No please . I rather trade up to get Shaq Lawson but not 6 picks .

how is he overrated? Spence would be a top 5 pick easy if it wasnt for his history.... the last superbowl showed how much of a premium pass rush is and spence is the only one with a ceiling as high as von miller... shaq lawson is upshaw 2.0

talking about the ravens.

Dunno bout that if he is an impact edge rusher it becomes a good trade. And ravens have a history of bad trades under them. Can't remember when a trade worked out.
