JO's Second to Last Mock Draft

19 posts in this topic

I was going to post this earlier but then the Rams traded up to number one so I adjusted the mock for that trade in which it came out pretty interesting. Hope you enjoy, and I'll post a final just before the Draft starts in two weeks. Granted if we ended up with this many picks I don't think we sit on them all without trading up.

Los Angeles Rams(via TEN)- Jared Goff QB California: If this was for Wentz, they would have waited. Browns prefer Goff so the Rams jump Cleveland for Goff, not Wentz.
Cleveland Browns- Laremy Tunsil OT Ole Miss: Browns are trying to trade down. In this scenario they replace Mitchell Schwartz(for now) and find a long term replacement for Joe Thomas.
San Diego Chargers- Myles Jack LB/S UCLA: Chargers spent a lot of time with Jack at UCLA’s Pro Day. They seem him as Weddle’s replacement and get him.
Dallas Cowboys- Jalen Ramsey S Florida State: Cowboys get their top prospect in Ramsey to fix that secondary.
Jacksonville Jaguars- Vernon Hargreaves CB Florida: Prince Amukamara is signed for a year; they just lost Aaron Colvin for 4 games. Hargreaves gives that secondary a talent boost it needs to compete in the weak AFC South.
New York Jets(via BAL)- Carson Wentz QB ND State: I’ll explain the trade details below but the Jets move in front of the 49ers for Wentz. Jets start Wentz from day one and hopefully find their franchise QB.
San Francisco 49ers- Laquon Treadwell WR Ole Miss: I would try to explain it but I can see this happening because of Chip Kelly.
Philadelphia Eagles- Ezekiel Elliott RB Ohio State: Doug Pederson can replicate the Chiefs Offense with Elliott playing the part of Jamaal Charles.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Joey Bosa DE Ohio State: Bosa drops due to the circumstances above and Tampa gets a blue chip pass rusher to compliment Robert Ayers.
New York Giants- DeForest Buckner DT/DE Oregon: JPP only signed a one year deal, here’s someone for the long term.
Chicago Bears- Ronnie Stanley OT Notre Dame: Bears have yet to address the left tackle spot. Fortunately Stanley falls in their lap and is Jay Cutler’s new blindside protector.
New Orleans Saints- Sheldon Rankins DT Louisville: Nick Fairly signed a one year deal, like the Giants the Saints need a long term answer.
Miami Dolphins(via PHI)- William Jackson CB Houston: Yes they got Maxwell but as we saw in Philly, outside the LOB he’s not that good.
Oakland Raiders- Jarran Reed DT Alabama: Raiders need some youth upfront on their defensive line and Reed is a guy who can create havoc up front for Mack to do his thing.
Tennessee Titans(via LA)- Jack Conklin OT Michigan State: Taylor Lewan stays at LT, Jack Conklin is the Titans new RT.
Detroit Lions- Vernon Butler DT Louisiana Tech: Lions have done their homework on Butler, extensively. Butler could go higher but this is perfect, for now.
Atlanta Falcons- Shaq Lawson DE Clemson: Falcons continue adding more 4-3 players for Dan Quinn’s defense.
Indianapolis Colts- Leonard Floyd OLB Georgia: Colts get a steal (if Grigson is smart enough to make this selection) as they need some young talented pass rushers if they are going to compete in the AFC.
Buffalo Bills- A’Shawn Robinson DT Alabama: Kyle Williams is ageing and Bills get another steal as Robinson can line up with Dareus forming an Alabama wall.
Baltimore Ravens(via NYJ)- Noah Spence OLB Eastern Kentucky: Taking Spence at 6 is too high, fortunately the Jets are desperate for a QB. Ravens get their successor to Terrell Suggs here.
Washington Redskins- Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama: Redskins loss Keenan Robinson to the Giants, taking BPA they get his replacement in the talented Ragland.
Houston Texans- William Fuller WR Notre Dame: Outside of Hopkins, Texans need another weapon for their new QB.
Minnesota Vikings- Darron Lee OLB Ohio State: The Vikings complete their young LB core with Lee as Chad Greenway plans to retire after this season.
Cincinnati Bengals- Josh Doctson WR TCU: Bengals need some new receivers after losing Sanu and Jones in Free Agency.
Pittsburgh Steelers- Kenny Clark DT UCLA: Steve McLendon is now a Jet but like always a talented prospect falls to the Steelers. Here’s his replacement.
Seattle Seahawks- Jonathon Bullard DT Florida: Brandon Mebane has left for San Diego and the Seahawks were going to need DT help anyway.
Green Bay Packers- Emmanuel Ogbah OLB Oklahoma: They can’t get an ILB here but some pass rushing depth is also needed.
Kansas City Chiefs- Ryan Kelly C Alabama: Chiefs can upgrade two positions by making this pick. Mitch Morse moves to Guard improving Alex Smith’s protection and more holes for Charles to run through.
Cleveland Browns(via ARI)- Paxton Lynch QB Memphis: Vikings jumped ahead of the Texans to select Bridgewater, Browns jump the Broncos here. Lynch ends up becoming the guy the Browns develop behind RG3 for a year or two.
Carolina Panthers- Taylor Decker OT Ohio State: Panthers’ offensive line got exposed in the Super Bowl. Put Decker at Left Tackle moving Oher to Right Tackle improving two spots at once.
Denver Broncos- Germain Ifedi G Texas A & M: Broncos also go offensive line as they find some youth at Guard to replace Evan Mathis.

Ravens/Jets Trade Details:
The 6th Pick Values at 1600 points. The 20th Pick values at 850, meanwhile the Jets second round pick(51) is valued at 390 while their third is 175 points. The way I see it they trade us their second and third round picks along with both or at least one of their seventh round picks in 2016 with their first round pick in 2017.

Round 2: Corey Coleman WR Baylor: Our depth at WR got exposed when Smith went down. Coleman can come in and help right away, especially if Perriman isn’t healthy.
Round 2(via NYJ):- Kendall Fuller CB Virginia Tech: Fuller is a top 10 talent but injuries drop him to the second round. Fuller will be a nice compliment to Jimmy Smith.
Round 3: Le’Raven Clark OT Texas Tech: We find our future Left Tackle in Clark at the top of the third.
Round 3(via NYJ)- Graham Glasgow C Michigan: Glasgow goes from one Harbaugh to another. Glasgow can play both Guard & Center; Ravens love OL who are versatile.
Round 4: Sheldon Day DT/DE Notre Dame: We haven’t done anything to replace Chris Canty so here is Day to compete with Lawrence Guy and others.
Round 4(via DEN): Matt Loannidis DT/DE Temple: Ravens double dip here as Lawrence Guy and Kapron-Moore Lewis are free agents after this season.
Round 4(COMP): Tyler Johnstone OT Oregon: Ricky Wagner is a free agent after this season. Ravens may have to think about a replacement at RT if they can’t keep him.
Round 4(COMP): KeiVarae Russell CB Notre Dame: Finally a Corner is in play as we add depth to our secondary.
Round 6: Tajae Sharpe WR Massachusetts: We double dip at WR, we need youth and Sharpe could be our Antonio Brown(6th round Steal).
Round 6(COMP): Dominique Alexander ILB Oklahoma: We may add a veteran ILB to compete at ILB but here’s another young LB since Arthur Brown hasn’t panned out.

very nice although hoping for a first next year on top of what the jets gave us in this trade is a bit optimistic. i also think le'raven clark is a massive reach anywhere beyond the 6th, he got abused by average talent at the senior bowl and looked like one of the worst players there. also, give me dodd over spence all day, but i do like spence and id take him at that point, i just wouldnt pass on dodd for him.

few questions, in your scenario, who is still available at 36? i see spriggs and dodd werent taken in the first, would we be passing on them for coleman? if so i think thats a really bad pick, even though i really like coleman for us, i just could see dodd being a top 10 talent on the ravens board(you know how they had mosley as a top 5 talent and perriman was their #15) and with our hole at LT and dire need for pass protection i think spriggs would make a big leap on our board as a talent-need grading, i would predict hes probably in our top 25. solid draft though

Unfortunately taken right ahead of us lol. Dodd to Dallas and Spriggs to San Diego at 35. Thanks, the hard part was figuring out the Jets trade with the points value.

Pretty meh on Coleman at 36. Rather get defensive players.

Agreed. And I don't think he'll be there anyway.

I like this mock and I think you are on point with projecting that they would trade next year's first.

Moving that far...for what you presume would be a franchise QB? You better believe we get 2017 first rounder out if it.

Like most, I would probably go elsewhere iround two (Coleman).

Some good SAFETY options in this draft.

I just couldn't trade back with Bosa on the board, I just couldn't. It would haunt us in our dreams

If Noah spence had stayed at Ohio State he might well have been taken ahead of Bosa.

to be honest I don't like Spence first step. Yes it is coachable yes he's got ton of potential but he needs lots of work against the run to be an every down player unlike Bosa whos already Pro Ready 3 downs player imo.

I like the trade potential if Wentz does fall, but don't think it is likely. I really believe either the Browns will stay put and draft Wentz or will receive too much by way of compensation from SF or Philly not to trade back. In any case, assuming he does fall to #6, it is entirely plausible that the Jets would want to trade up with the Ravens. However, with the 20th pick, and Reggie Ragland being available I think they take him over Noah Spence potentially. They've been really high on Ragland I believe.

The sweetheart deal won't make it to the Ravens. They seat too far back. The Cowboys will take a trade out because they like to one up the Ravens. Happens every year.

No yannick ngakoue or Cravens? Damn.  I don't know how I feel about Spence being our first pick,  I like him but still unsure.

Also not a fan of the Coleman pick

I'd love for anyone to show me tape on Kendall Fuller that shows that he's worth a 2nd round pick

at 36 hes a reach but if you look at 2014 tapes he is a lot better than last year. as long as he keeps everything in front of him he's good. reminds me a bit of malcom jenkins I don't know if anyone had the same comp.... not the way he plays but what you get with him.

he's a tampa 2 corner imo... good in the underneath zones. can jump routes well and make plays. he's not the prototype shutdown corner tho

The 2014 OSU and Cincinnati games were very nice. North Carolina was also a good one.

Don't even bother. I showed him plenty of good games and plays and he didn't even acknowledge it.

It's a real shame you all couldn't see 2013. In any case, every draft analyst sees him as a second rounder and most on this board do as well.
