5-11 teams shouldn't get MNF home games.

That's good news. 13 1pm Sunday games is just fine with me.

If you want to be technical about it, we really have three "primetime" games, since the Christmas game in Pittsburgh is the only game on at that time. We are only one of two games on that day.

As much as you despise the fans reactions the day of and after the schedule release, I'm surprised you logged on today.  LOL!

Well somebody has to be here to provide facts and logic, and I couldn't find anybody to outsource it to.

We have a chance to make the playoffs this year with that schedule.  I sure hope that we get a defensive starter in the draft who is not injured by the time the season starts.  I'm hoping that Flacco finally gets 4,000 yards in 2016, too.

Granted, but that does not explain why we didn't even get one after we won the Superbowl. We haven't been 5-11 since 2008.

OK, but why do we even want one? Where's the gain?

Sometimes I think fans want primetime games just so that they can say they had one, without getting any actual benefit out of it.

I'd go out on a limb and say the team probably doesn't want it, and as a fan I don't want it.

You give me 16 1pm games on Sunday and I'll be as happy as ever.

Never understood the desire for a MNF game, home or away.

The 2016 schedule presents a few small challenges that will prove whether or not we deserve to make the playoffs. I do not want to skate into the playoffs because of an easy schedule only to lose to a better battle tested team. I remember the days of our dominating defenses and all opposing teams feared the Ravens coming to their town. If we go back to that proven past winning formula of picking stout defensive players in the up-coming draft no matter what schedule the NFL gives the Ravens should not matter.

The real killer for early risers are those 8:30 PM Thursday night games.

The Team does want one. Harbaugh was very vocal about it last year as was Bischotti.

I mean its not the end of the world, and I certainly don't expect all fans to think the same way.

But from a "whats in the best interest of the Ravens and the team perspective", I just don't see how playing a Thursday night or a Monday night game is beneficial to the team. Sunday night games aren't a huge deviation from normal schedules, but you're talking a short week in most instances (followed by a long week) and you're talking major routine and schedule changes, something NFL players harp on all the time.

Just don't see why fans think its so important to have those games.

I mean maybe. I'm not convinced he's that upset about not playing on Monday.. I think he's more or less saying that IF he has to play on Monday, he'd prefer at home (which 32 NFL teams would say the same thing).

Its a tough sell (and frankly, makes no sense) why a team would actually want to play on Monday night. The only way that's beneficial is if you have a bye week immediately after the game.

It's exposure. Ravens have a huge following and Prime time games gives fans a chance to see a Ravens game. The Ravens are generally never televised on Sundays except in Maryland. To see a game they have to have the "Ticket" which is way overpriced and most people cannot afford it. Sunday at 1pm might be o.k with you but what about all the fans outside of Baltimore?

I mean its 2016... we're kind of past that point. Online streaming of games, NFL Sunday ticket, tens of thousands of bars showing games, etc. We're kind of past the point of the NFL or its fans having an exposure issue and not being able to see the games they want.

In particular, note that Monday night games are shown on ESPN, a network that either requires an internet connection or some sort of cable/satellite package to watch generally. Its not ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, etc.

If fans outside of Baltimore have an issue with watching Ravens games, I don't think a Monday Night home game every few years is really going to make them happy. They're either finding a way to watch the game like tens of thousands of fans do, or they're not watching it at all. Those aren't the kinds of fans the NFL is concerning itself with.

I'm not going to argue the point however even government assisted living has cable included, so a ESPN game would be good. Lots of people don't have computers still (believe it or not) and they follow sports by reading about it. Government phone aren't iPhones so I think you get the point. There are still many people that would love to see a prime time game that they wouldn't usually get to see.

Cool... feel pretty confident that's not a segment of the market the NFL cares about. The typical NFL fan that the NFL caters to and attracts isn't the fan who is only watching one game a week on ESPN. The Ravens also aren't making much money off said fan either.

And if we circle all the way back, the people on these boards in particular (people who clearly have internet, lots of free time, and probably watch every game... though sometimes I question if they've ever even watched one) who complain about the lack of prime time games don't have any of these issues. So again, I'd ask... why do these people want it?

I doubt the kind of people who are complaining about lack of prime time games on an internet fanboard are the kind of people who are doing so because they're concerned about other people not being able to see the games. They're doing it for some personal benefit only, of which I'm asking specifically what that personal benefit is?

I don't see practically any benefits to the team itself, which SHOULD be what fans care about.

It's got to benefit the team in some manner if the Head Coach and the Owner have been asking for one.

But, again, most likely asking for a HOME game instead of a ROAD game. They know they're likely to get on MNF football regardless, because there's 17 of those games and 32 teams, so the likelihood of them playing on at least one is strong every single year.

They're lobbying for a home game, because of course you'd rather be at home than on the road.

I remember walking to Memorial stadium for the 1pm home game and stopping at Pechora's Restaurant after the game to eat. All the NFL games were at 1pm or 4pm on Sunday's. I think the NFL should go back to Sunday games only then all teams will be playing on a fair and equal schedule time and then their would be no complaining from fans and teams about who got shorted and who has advantage from the NFL schedule people. I will not stay up and lose my sleep to watch any primetime game.

Gotta agree with ya although I'd take a Monday night game over a Thursday every time. Perhaps it's me but always seems we struggle more often on prime time

I just really hate Thursday night games, and every player i've ever heard on television, radio or the internet says the same thing, with the possible exception of Thanksgiving day games.

Thursday night games are an obvious NFL money grab. The league says it cares about player safety, then makes them go out and play on short rest? Really? I dare someone to find me one player who likes Thursday games.
