It matters because if they take the QB Cleveland wants, then Cleveland might take someone we want.

nfl network reported earlier rams want goff, browns want wentz.  hope that's true.

It makes the most sense to me. LA Rams just moved to LA, and Goff is from CAL, so there's a connection there and the fans would like it. Goff is also a pretty good QB, IMO, with a lot of potential. Wentz is a heck of a prospect as well. It definitely makes sense for both parties.

Maybe after Ozzie gets over the high of having somehow landing Tunsil, Ramsey, Jack, or Bosa, he gets a little aggressive and baits Tennessee into acquired more future picks so they can follow a similar format to the 76ers for a trading of 2nd rounders (3rd rounder) and we land the best player on the board that survived RD 1. Most likely not, but I would love to take BPA at 36 and move back into 2nd round because there are going to be a lot of talented prospects ripping off that board.

I've always said Goff is the best QB in this class, he'll give the Rams a high volume passing offense. Maybe Wentz has a higher ceiling but he has a long way to go before he gets there.

I'm not so sure wentz has a long way to go. He is a very cerebral qb. He may be more heady than goff and has the bigger and more consistent arm. Goff has a strange throwing motion and it leads to errant throws quite often. If I'm not mistaken he tested through the roof in the mental department at the combine.

I feel kind of bad for wanting whoever they draft to fail, but fact is I don't want the AFCN to get any more difficult to win :(

I guess Wentz has the bigger bust potential, so that's who I want them to draft.

Strength of competition is a concern, he's done well against stronger competition but in smaller sample sizes. For what it's worth I don't think you can start either until that offensive line is fixed.

Folks had the same concerns with flacco, mcnair, and whatever small school qb I can't think of. You grade the prospect and not the competition, thats how I see it. You see a qb with a NFL body, NFL arm, and a mental game on par with other NFL qb prospects, that shows an NFL skill set and he should be used to speed of the game by year 2.

I think pretty highly of wentz. I think he'll be special and I think Goff will be solid but inconsistent.

I know right.  When the hell is Roethlisberger going to be done, I mean we can almost count on him to get hurt each year, but the guy is a tank.  This will be his 13th year, he's getting less mobile each year and we have seem to be getting the best of them lately, but I don't know how good it will feel beating them without him there....still pretty damn good im sure.

With the Rams moving to LA and wanting the fanfare of the no.1 pick I think they will go with Goff.

If that is the case I dont think it affects what the Browns do as i think they have Wentz higher, the issue is if they take a QB or not.

Regardless we will have a shot at Bosa Jack Tunsil Buckner or Ramsey falling to us.

Goff or Wentz...kinda reminds me of Ryan vs. Flacco.

Well, if it goes down the same way then the Browns will end up with the underrated QB that gets them into the playoffs. I don't want that happen.

I think the Rams are drafting Goff. Cal connection, the more pro ready. Goffs offense also relied on him reading defenses, with more of a check down system. Might be a gamble. Wentz system is very run friendly and he didn't sling the ball as much or start as often as Goff. Rams have established running game with Gurley, and another pick. I'm going with Goff though.

Probably? This is exactly why the Rams jumped to #1, to eliminate any probability that somebody jumps to one instead of them and takes him.

I'm also thinking this.

It seemed like most of the rumors before the draft were saying that the Browns were heavily leaning Wentz. Only the couple days before the big trade was announced did the sentiments about the Browns preferring Goff seem to change. Seems to me they knew a trade was coming, so they shifted the narrative to say they wanted Goff all along so as not to hurt the feelings of their future QB and/or possibly also to drum up trade interest among teams who want Goff.

/I mean, these teams gather intelligence on what each other team is doing; Rams must have traded up for Wentz at #1 because they knew that was the only way they'd get him, otherwise they could just wait until pick 3, 4, 5, 6 etc. and have paid less

...Of course I'm saying all of this thinking Rams want Wentz, which seems to be the popular rumor right now

Meaning you think this will be the first time since '08 that the top two QBs pan out? I'm hoping it's more like Manning/Leaf, emphasis on Leaf, if the Browns take the second guy.

Sometimes I get irritated with Flacco when he throws off his back foot and throws int's. Sometimes I post stuff irritated with Flacco in the heat of the moment....  But watching teams go through this every year makes me enjoy what we got in Flacco. There's teams that draft qb's every year hoping to get a Flacco. I'm just hopping we get a instant coffee pass rusher(which is hard to come by in the 1st year) and a top notch LT! With a warning label stating "watch out, this coffee is very hot!"

And with the 1st overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft, the LA Rams select.... Reggie Ragland... LB Alabama. (Curveball)

Yes it is a joke.

They're taking Goff and I honestly don't know why people are thinking it's Wentz. They traded a s@!tload of picks for the 1st, would make no sense to draft an unproven FCS qb.

Not really, but my guess is it did matter to the Eagles who they believe will go number one. Otherwise, they may not have made that aggressive trade.
