[News] Ravens Could Find Quality Left Tackles After First Round

18 posts in this topic

Bold Prediction: Monroe gets injured, and Wagner is showcased as a good LT before hitting FA, netting us a nice comp. pick just like KO. ...And then I woke up and realized Wagner is probably not quick enough to stand-out at LT.

Jason Spriggs will be a LT in the NFL after he gets some experience. Would love to get him with our 2nd round pick, but it's hardly a sure-thing he's available. Ifedi has the measurables to play LT, but he seems like a RT talent-wise.

I see us signing a post draft cut as a backup LT, will allow guys like Wesley get groomed as well. Pretty sure will draft a LT between the 3-7 round, and invite a few UDFA to camp....But seeing we have no clue of the zillion guys Oz has on his draft board, you just never know what will happen....

Monroe getting injured isn't exactly a bold prediction, lol

I'd be more surprised if he didn't get injured

Tunsil will be gone by pick #6, and I just don't see Stanley as being worthy of that high a pick...maybe if we dropped back some spots, but i'm hoping we can get a defensive starter at #6...I think Jason Spriggs is gone by #36, so we'd have to probably move back up to get him, and if we don't get Ramsey or Hargreaves i'd rather spend our 2nd rounder on a quality CB, which there should still be some around...Kyle Murphy is interesting if we could get him late 3rd/early 4th...

Honestly, after a crappy season, yeah I was at the jaguars game to see it stolen from us, and still can't figure out how they got the 5 pick with that unearned w, I am extremely jacked at the amount of talent available to us this year, and I would not be opposed to taking a playmaker like Elliot available, something this team sorely needs....lets face it, Offense gets away with way more benefits in this day and age, so I say lets get Joe loaded this year, plug the K.O. hole, get some 3-4th round defensive talent, and Go OFFENSE! Yeah yeah I know, DWC! Lets see if Joe with talent, can go, no offence to SS3, not sure how long you feel like banging in Purple? Got Ring?

Funny, how fans were calling for Juan's job a few years back. Congrats to him. Pees should also get his props for bringing our dismal defensive back from miring in the muck of the first half of the season, into the 2nd best defense in the league during the second half of last season.
Time for Marc to step up!

This article tells us nothing about these names you have dropped.... we know who we have and where they were drafted. we know that Spriggs is the next in line below Stanley and that in all probability he wont be on the board at 36. This is the big dilemma the Ravens face. Do they trade back and risk letting Stanley go before they can pick, or do they just take him at 6 and then go onto 36 where they can pick up a good defensive player? Or do they just pass on all 3 and risk that Cody Whitehair is the guy and trade back, take the picks and take a higher ranked Defensive player and then pick up Whitehair as the LT at 36.

Unless it's a big losing team without a franchise QB (you know how they will draft) what you read and hear are mostly misleading statements so other teams don't draft the player your team wants. Sure...Eugene is going to watch Joe's back as our LOT. Feel safe with that Ozzie? That game in Cleveland was a great win but totally messed things up. We would be drafting Godzilla as our LOT. Now we got to talk some trash and hope we get what we need.
Camo PJ's...

"...get a tackle after the first round to work with respected Offensive Line Coach Juan Castillo. "

I got such a chuckle out of that. the O'line has moved backwards since handing it back over to Castillo.  The sharpness and precision we saw under kubiak is gone. It has nothing to injury and everything to do with execution. This just another article to keep Castillos name out the mud just like there first PR campaign for him last off season.

Id love to see Vernon Hargreaves in the first. Need a corner for one. And I am not so sure guys like Jackson and Fuller will be there at 36, plus there is a huge drop at talent after Hargreaves, and hopefully we can get Spriggs or Whitehair in the second......Our Oline is way thinner than the D line.

All excellent choices (with exception of Stanly at #6).
I would prefer Jason Spriggs in the 2nd.....but hearing he has climbed the board to late first round.
Dahl in the 4th would be nice.
