[News] Dennis Pitta, Ozzie Newsome React To Restructured Contract

18 posts in this topic

I'm excited to see what happens. I really hope he's fully healthy and can do some damage once he gets his feet under him. We have a crowded TE group but it's crowded with tons of talent. The good thing is he doesn't have to rush to come back and he can take his time and ease back in. Play snaps here and their until he completely comfortable and confident.

I have been skeptical of Pitta ever playing again ever since I watched him go down without contact. Wouldn't it be something if we got back our boy in full form!

He's not coming back, or he shouldn't. I hate to be that guy, but retire so it doesn't affect your quality of life. One more hip whatever....Won't be fun. You're young, healthy and have more than enough $$$. Retire man.

I'm not a person that cares much for feel good things . . you either can or you can not. But to me, this is a great, great scenario. I really hopes it works for us and Pitta !!

It's not your decision at all.

Like Joe, he shows up big in the playoffs. You gotta love that!

he shows up big whenever he's on the field, he's just been crippled for two years, and spent two others on the bench while they were trying to make Ed Dickson (the 3rd round pick) a thing.

If I could get paid millions to sit on the bench I wouldn't walk away either.
He'll milk this another year and then retire.

The dude is from BYU, he won't roll that way.

I'm glad, I wulda supported his decision either way, but having him come back is a big bonus. As we all now maybe aside from sss, Pitta is Joe's favorite target.

Obviously he's thought about it, he's had 2 years to make this choice, if he's comfortable coming back why cant you? If he shouldn't come back then don't cheer when he scores a td or picks up a clutch first down. His life not yours.

I will give Dickson credit, he did look like a thing in 2011. He had close to 50 catches I think and some were pretty great catches. Then Pitta happened and Dickson had butter all over his hands....

It would be nice to see him make a comeback and play for a couple years injury free. If he is willing to risk it, then so be it. It's his life, let him live it. It's a shame he had this problem, because Pitta could have been one of the best receiving TEs in the NFL.

No offense, but Pitta bread still stinks. If Ozzie gave him more than $800,000, then it's time for Ozzie to go. He drafts tight ends and safeties every year and can't get it right- at least recently owned up to not drafting well, which I respect. Regardless, how many more TE or Safeties do we have to pick-up/ draft before we get it right? Now we have a 40 year old TE from New Orleans? SMH. Anyhow, I can't see Pitta not dislocating his hip again this year- he's going to play with fear which isn't good. At least his best friend Joe will give him every opportunity to make some of that money back--

Maybe it's just those sub-par drafts that make Pitta (at a heavily discounted price) a necessary risk in the eyes of Ozzie & Co...

How so? Is it your point that Joe will forego what's best for the team, in order to try and help out a buddy? What do you base that conclusion on?
