So what would be the best food region in the US? Like the North or the Southeast?

Depends. Northeast is best for lobster by far, Hawaii for seafood, Chesapeake area for blue crabs, south for fried food, New York has the best steaks/pizzas. But the west coast is pretty rock solid.

San Fran may be overrated but I had some excellent meals there when I went ~8 years ago. The seafood pasta I had was probably the best I've ever had and I've tried (with varying results) to find something like it again.

Well. When I mean overrated I mean that it's not the "greatest food city on earth" like some people think. That doesn't mean it isn't good. I've had great steak and pasta out here. The clam chowder down here is surprisingly better than Boston Clam Chowder.

5 dishes everyone should know how to cook, according to Gordon Ramsay

1. A great burger

"Everyone enjoys a great burger," Ramsay wrote. "So that's really important." Even Ramsay knows there's nothing better than a burger! It's an American classic for a reason.

2. A healthy breakfast

For breakfast, Ramsay was sure to include the word healthy. It's easy to go for the cereal box when you're in a hurry, but don't. Though breakfast may not be the most important meal, it's important to start your day feeling great! "Whether it's poached eggs, smashed avocado, or an amazing omelette. Now that is crucial!" said Ramsay.

3. A braising dish

A braising dish may seem hard to master, but the task isn't as scary as you think. "It's the kind of thing you can cook on a Monday and still eat on Friday," said Ramsay, citing braised short ribs as an example. Only Ramsay could make leftovers sound cool...

4. A chicken dish

"Then from a healthy point of view," Ramsay said, "a chicken dish, in terms of a white protein, would be a go to favorite." Chicken is a great option because it's easy to cook and so versatile!

5. A great dessert

Now this is one we can really rally around. "Taking amazing desserts, Ramsay said, "as a gift, to somebody and eating it with them is so much more enjoyable then buying them a scarf, or a jumper, or a pair of socks." We couldn't agree more; desserts are made to be shared!

I can cook burgers,Dogs,Sausages and Cheesesteaks ,But Chicken,Fish and Pork chops are hard to cook for me. I can cook breakfast scrambled eggs and pork sausages.

Ramsey's steak recipie is brilliant. That's all. Otherwise the only thing he's good for to me is his quotes.

But my dad has been to his restaurant in England... Said it was the best meal he ever had.

That actually looks really delicious!

My dad is one of the co-owners.  Steve Bisciotti, owner of the Ravens has eaten there a few times.

Alrighty. My roommate just showed up at my apartment drunk off his butt and needs a late night eat.

Denny's or IHOP. GO

I'd go for quantity over quality and say Denny's although IHOP is always a nice choice as well.

Be careful of GMO's to go. Very unhealthy.

If a Denny's or IHOP can't verify that unhealthy food is not served - beware for you and your family.

Ugh. Neither.

If I had a gun to my head, IHOP, but otherwise I would find some diner or some mom & pop joint.

This is Boulder. The diner crap costs $10. I'm not spending that on my roommate. LOL

No so much the food, but the establishment itself is just nasty.
My thought always is.... If the dining room is this messy and nasty, what does the kitchen look like ?

*shudders*

I haven't been in a Denny's for about 15 years, but I don't remember it as being dirty or nasty. Maybe it was just the one you went to.

I bounced between several different IHOPs and Dennys for a number of years.  From the early 90's till about 2005. With out except Dennys was always nasty to one degree or another.

Denny's is the best and worst place to go at 4am all wrapped up in one.  The food is pretty bomb, at least when you're drunk.  On the same token, I went with a drunk friend once who urinated on himself in the booth and that didn't go too well for us or Denny's.  You take the good with the bad.

The concern over GMO's is vastly overrated.

Most cheese consumed in America contains GMOs. It's extremely hard to find cheese without it. I'm not talking American yellow and white, either.

Almost every food has it and you'd never know. Why? Because it's not harmful to humans.
