[News] Ravens Like Myles Jack's Versatility, See Him As Inside Linebacker

His coverage is such a plus, with so many teams drafting TE/WR Speed guys you really need a ILBer who can cover seam routes....I have been a fan if his, so i am bias here.....

The more I think about I, the more I'm against this pick.  Sorry, but we've got a rookie wr that's still out with a knee injury although a different kind.  He may be good for this season, but what about the next and the one after that?  People talk about how good he will be against TEs and that's probably true, and more than likely we'll have to play New England during the playoffs up north where it will be cold.  So what if arthritis sets in?  We may not even make the playoffs this year since we're rebuilding.  Not saying we can't.  Point is we're picking a player for hopefully the long hull and we need him to be healthy. After all the injuries we endured last season, we have to make this pick count.  I would much rather take a safer pick like VH3 or Elliott.

I agree.... there is an increasing need for ILBers who can cover these freak TE's now a days... but we do play in the AFC North (the most physical division in football). While I really like what Jack brings to the table... I also acknowledge that he will need to grow into the superstar we are hoping for by drafting him at 6.

This is a different injury, and all humans heal differently. Apparently he has made great strides, and I really doubt this turns into a big issue down the road. He would be a great pick for us.

You could be right, but to me great strides would have to include more playing time on the field too and that just hasn't happened yet.

we don't need him now if HARBAUGH follows through and convinces one of our bigger safties to come up and play in that spot,as really that's what JACK is,he's hybrid tweener.

As much as I like Jack, I would rather have Ramsey or Hargreaves to stop the pass. I would still put him behind Bosa and Buckner on my big board.

Jack shuts down the middle of the field, even at 80% at his pro day he was putting up elite numbers

Agreed, he would instantly help our defense. If he's there at 6 (IMO), pick him and then focus on pass rush. Even if trading up with our second was needed.

I remember sitting at M & T last season thinking that our LBs couldn't cover anyone.

We have to trade up for him. I don't see dallas or Jacksonville not taking him. Might even go ahead of ramsey.

I really hope I'm wrong

I can see the Ravens using Jack as an ILB especially on passing downs but short yardage, you can always put Orr back in there who has more size and Jack can play the safety thumper position with Weddle locking down the back. I think his versatility, Weddle's versatility and Webb's versatility, depending on the down and yardage, it allows you to tailor your defense to match a particular offense. Imagine with Ramsey's versatility what you could do. I have taken a liking to Spence's film and see him as the number 1 lineman before Bosa, but his off field issues have him going later in the draft. If we could get Jack or even Hargreaves at 6 or move back a couple and still get Hargreaves and use those extra picks to get back in early and get Spence. That would be amazing. It's three weeks til draft, it's okay to dream and dream big.

The last thing the Ravens need is to take an ILB when they drafted one 2 years ago in the first round. Too many other needs to fill and injury concerns to have him above others on our board.

You do realize we dont have Daryl Smith anymore right?  Jack does fill a need...and would instantly improve our coverage, which would also allow Mosely to come up and better defend the run

think he had the same amount of reps as stanley with the bench press , so he has some power to go with the size and speed.

kid is special and the only player id take over him would be tunsil at this point.

I know they play different positions, but as much as i love myles jack, as everyone knows....If  we dont get him, i would be content if we got Cravens.  I see the same play making ability in them.

I'm a huge USC fan, Cravens is a true football player.

I think we could get great value if we got him in the third

Well not busT per say, just not a player I see the Ravens using a VERY Rare pick inside the top 7 for..

Too many good players available to take a risk on someone with a surgically repaired knee.  Even if he is fully healed, but we have no way of knowing that for sure. Won't make or break us if we don't get him, but will hurt if he doesn't pan out because of long term complications to knee.  Could be some time before we get a pick this high again. Lawson or trading down for Spence or even Alexander and getting more picks sounds safer.

First , you don't need a first round pick to replace a 30+ year old ILB. You do realize Ravens have many other needs. Can Jack cover after a knee injury? What's his 40 time. Why no running drills at the combine? I think it's crazy not to be concerns. IMO

Agreed, you would think after the body count we had last season that it would be more of a concern.  Think I got it right that time.

Why would the Ravens even consider taking a chance like this with the #6 pick? It is absolutely insane. I don't care how good the guy was before the knee injury, he has not shown anything that would prove he is recovered and able to continue what he once was. I hope the Ravens aren't that stupid.

Myles Jack moved well at his pro day and still has 5 months to fully recover. Jack had a 40 inch vertical and 124 inch broad jump which is freakish.

He will enter the league and become the best cover ILB in the game. Sideline to sideline monster that will make CJ Mosley look average. We would be stupid if we pass on him. I think he is our highest rated player.

PS: you are the negative Nancy of this site.
